What a great way to wrap up our Ride Ready Bike Series! 🚲🎨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Somerville Community Mural Bike Ride through East Somerville and Assembly. Riders had the opportunity to explore the neighborhood from a new perspective, connect with fellow community members, and learn about the stories behind some of Somerville's vibrant public art from local artist Liz LaManche.

From colorful murals to great conversations and plenty of smiles along the way, it was the perfect conclusion to tour Ride Ready Bike Series. We hope everyone enjoyed discovering new routes, building confidence on their bike, and experiencing the creativity that makes Somerville such a special place.

A special thank you to Liz LaManche for sharing her knowledge and passion for public art, Urban AdvenTours for leading our ride, and to all of our riders for making this event such a success.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this weekend for Jane's Walk: Assembly Row – A Historical Perspective! 🚶‍♀

In partnership with the Somerville Museum, participants explored the rich history of Assembly Square, tracing its transformation from a hub of transportation and industry to the vibrant waterfront neighborhood we know today.

Along the way, we learned about the area's historic connections to the Mystic River, the legacy of the Ford Assembly Plant, and the evolution of Assembly Row's public spaces. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community while gaining a deeper appreciation for the history that shaped this neighborhood.

A special thank you to the Somerville Museum for sharing their expertise and helping bring Assembly Square's story to life as part of May Preservation Month.

Help shape the future of the Alewife Brook and Mystic River Greenways! 🌿🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️

The .river.watershed (MyRWA) is developing a new wayfinding plan to make it easier for people to navigate and enjoy the Alewife Brook and Mystic River Greenways. Join the Community Wayfinding Workshop this Thursday, June 4, from 5:30–7:00 PM at MyRWA Headquarters (23 Maple Street, Arlington) to view the proposed designs, meet the project team, and share your thoughts. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided.

Whether you walk, bike, run, or explore these greenways, your input can help shape the final plan. Can't make it in person? Additional opportunities to review the project and provide feedback will be available online.

To wrap up Bike Month, we’re excited to share that our new Assembly Square Bike Maps are officially hot off the press! 🚲🗺️

We are excited to introduce our new and improved Assembly Square Bike Map - your guide to safer, smarter cycling throughout Assembly and surrounding neighborhoods. Whether you’re commuting to work, heading to the Orange Line, riding to dinner, or exploring nearby paths, this map is designed to help riders of all experience levels feel more confident navigating the area.

Inside the map, you’ll find:
✔️ Public + private bike racks and bike rooms
✔️ Bluebikes station locations
✔️ MBTA Orange Line and bus connections
✔️ Safer, more comfortable suggested bike routes
✔️ Bike safety tips and riding resources
✔️ Connections to regional paths including the Community Path, Northern Strand Trail, and Charles River Bike Path

Join Assembly Connect’s Ride Ready Bike Series for a guided Community Mural Bike Ride from Assembly to East Somerville on Sunday, June 14th from 11 AM – 12:30 PM!
