🚨 The Route 85 Weekend Service Survey has been extended through September 8! 🚍

Help bring weekend service to Route 85! The MBTA is considering adding weekend service, creating seven-day connections between Assembly Station, Union Square, Kendall Square, the Longwood Medical Area, and Roxbury.

If weekend service on Route 85 would make your commute, errands, or weekend trips easier, now is the time to share your feedback and help inform future service improvements.

Big changes are coming to MBTA fares this September!🚇

The MBTA is launching three new fare pilots designed to make public transit more affordable and easier to use.

Here’s what riders can look forward to:

🔄 Unlimited 2-Hour Transfers
Make unlimited transfers between buses, subways, and ferries within a two-hour window and only pay the highest fare of your trip! Just remember to use the same form of payment for each transfer.

🚌 Lower Express Bus Fares
Express bus fares will now match local bus fares at $1.70 full fare / $0.85 reduced fare. This change does not affect Silver Line fares.

🆓Free Transit for Car-Free Seniors
Massachusetts residents ages 75+ who do not have a driver’s license will be eligible for free travel on MBTA buses, subways, Commuter Rail, and ferries.

These changes are designed to make getting around more affordable, accessible, and convenient for everyone!

Starting this Thursday, August 20th, through Sunday, the 30th, shuttle buses will replace service between Oak Grove and Back Bay for track work and signal system upgrades. Use shuttles between Oak Grove and North Station.

🚌 Assembly Station shuttles can be found on Grand Union Blvd. Commuter Rail Haverhill Line service will be fare-free in both directions between North Station and Oak Grove during the closure.
