Just Curious… 🐴

If you had a healthy, sound young horse standing in your pasture today…

At what age would you feel comfortable starting them under saddle?

I’ve heard everything from 2 years old to 5 years old depending on the horse, discipline, and goals.

I don’t know that there’s one right answer, but I do think it’s an interesting conversation.

Tell me:
✨ What age?
✨ Why?
✨ What signs tell you they’re ready?

Let’s hear those horseman opinions! 👇🤠

Skeeter is officially 3 years old and stepping into a new chapter.

Over the past few years, she’s built a foundation of trust, communication, confidence, and understanding. Now it’s time for the next step. RIDING

She’s beginning to learn what it means to carry a rider and experience the partnership between horse and human.

One of the things I love most about horses is how closely they reflect life. True partnership isn’t built through force—it grows through trust, consistency, communication, and connection we choose Tad Enck with years of breaking and training horses, he knows the importance of relationship. Not breaking a horses spirit but connection.

As Skeeter starts this journey, she’ll learn that riding is about more than carrying a rider—it’s about responding, trusting, and connecting in a whole new way.

Like all growth, it requires stepping into the unfamiliar.

I’m excited to watch this girl continue becoming all she was created to be. 💛🐴

A little flower knowledge:
Yellow peonies symbolize friendship, joy, good fortune, and new beginnings. They remind us that even the brightest things in life often take time to develop. Peonies spend months growing underground before producing a bloom that lasts only a short time.

🧠 A little brain knowledge:
Studies have shown that smelling flowers can positively affect the brain by reducing stress hormones and activating areas connected to emotion and memory. Certain floral scents can help calm the nervous system, improve mood, and even increase feelings of connection and well-being.

It’s one reason why receiving flowers feels so special.

The flower itself is beautiful…
but what our brain often remembers most is:

“Someone thought of me.”

And that feeling of being seen, remembered, and valued can linger long after the petals fade.

We sometimes think setting a boundary means someone is a bad person.

It doesn’t.

Everyone has access to their emotions.
Everyone has hard days.
Everyone carries hurts, fears, disappointments, and struggles.

Most people are doing the best they can with what they know.

But as the CEO of your own life, it is your responsibility to decide what you allow into your mind, heart, and daily experience.

You don’t have to absorb every opinion.
You don’t have to entertain every fear.
You don’t have to carry every emotional burden someone hands you.

A horse can stand calmly beside another horse without giving away its peace.

We can do the same.

Healthy boundaries aren’t about keeping people out.
They’re about protecting what God has entrusted to us.

Not everyone is your enemy.
Not everyone is your closest friend.

Wisdom is learning the difference.

The horses remind us daily:

✨ Be kind.
✨ Be aware.
✨ Be responsible for your own energy.
✨ Choose relationships that bring life.
✨ And remember—you can love people without giving them access to everything.

Wow. What an incredible three days.Trailblazer Camp p was such a success, and my heart is overflowing with gratitude and pride for these amazing kids.

Connecting head and heart is challenging work even as adults. We were the last generation to grow up without smartphones in our hands every waking moment (although some of us remember those giant bag phones!). Because of that, we can never fully understand the pressure today’s kids face from constant comparison, striving, distraction, and the endless messages telling them who they should be.

It’s hard to be present.
It’s hard to know your value when you’re comparing your life to everyone else’s highlight reel.
It’s hard to slow down long enough to hear your own thoughts.

But these kids showed up.

They connected.
They got honest.
They got vulnerable.
They stretched themselves.
They tried new things.
They encouraged one another.
They learned that their thoughts matter, their choices matter, and their lives matter.

Over the last three days, I watched confidence grow, friendships form, courage rise, and young leaders begin to see who they are becoming.

It gives me so much hope knowing there are Trailblazers like these right here in our community.

One of the highlights was awarding our Trailblazer Buckles. The truth is, choosing recipients was incredibly difficult because so many kids demonstrated growth, courage, leadership, and character throughout camp. In the end, we decided to bless two deserving kiddos, and watching their faces made it all worth it.

Thank you to every family who trusted us with your children. Thank you to our volunteers who poured their hearts into this experience. And thank you to these incredible kids for reminding us what courage looks like.

The future is bright.

❤️ Jenny Joshua Eggers

We ended the day reminding them. What do you want your character to be? How do you wanna be known. Good that for all of us.
