They serve authentic Thai/Lao cuisine, including favorites like Pad Thai, fresh spring rolls, crab rangoons, curries, fried rice, noodle dishes, khao piak sen, and more! The official ribbon cutting for Burkman Valley Elementary School was held yesterday afternoon at 300 N. Sunshine Avenue. The new school was designed by Architecture Incorporated with Stockwell Engineers and Peska Construction serving as the Engineer and GC, respectively. The school will officially open next week for the 2026-27 school year. Thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate!

Our second Kwik Star is officially opening for business on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 5AM! Store #1909 is located at 1316 E. Ash Place in Brandon 90 Plaza. If you know of somebody interested in a job, it looks like they have quite a few available at both the new location and our original location. The official ribbon cutting for the Brandon Valley School District's Burkman Valley Elementary School is being held on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 4-6PM. Located at 300 N. Sunshine Avenue, the new school was designed by Architecture Incorporated with Stockwell Engineers and Peska Construction serving as the Engineer and GC, respectively. Earlier this year, we posted a link where you could fill out a survey and/or provide comments to assist with the creation of the City of Brandon South Dakota - Municipal Government's portion of the Regional Safe Streets for All Safety Action Plan. You responded by dropping 93 pinpoints and comments on the interactive map and completing 48 surveys. Houston Engineering, Inc. has taken your input and the responses received from others in the larger Sioux Falls Metro region and used them to create the SECOG Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Regional Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. A brief summary of the Plan and its recommended projects for Brandon was presented to the City Council at its regular meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026. The official ribbon cutting for Degaje Studios was held yesterday afternoon at 704 S. 8th Avenue. Degaje (day-ga-zhay) is a Haitian word meaning to make a way, to press through, to create beauty with what you have. They work with families, brands, and communities to produce films, photos, websites, and logos in order to share both their simple and extraordinary stories with the world. If you haven't heard yet, Dokmai's Sticky Rice is moving from the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls to the former Pizza Hut space next to Taco John's and the Verizon store on North Splitrock Boulevard. Our new restaurant will feature an expanded menu and offer authentic Lao cuisine, including Pad Thai, fresh spring rolls, crab rangoons, curries, fried rice, noodle dishes, and khao piak sen, a traditional Lao chicken noodle soup. Building renovations are currently underway. No official opening date has been announced, but their final day of business in Sioux Falls is July 18th in case you wanted a sneak preview.
