The Preliminary Subdivision Plans for the Splitrock Reserve Addition will be discussed by the Brandon Planning & Zoning Commission at its meeting tonight (10/15) at 6:30PM. Unlike Concept Plans which are submitted for informational/discussion purposes only, the approval of Preliminary Plans constitute the City's general agreement with the items shown in the plans, including the phasing plan and the location of lots, blocks, utilities, drainage features, proposed zoning districts, and streets. Approval of the Preliminary Plans is NOT approval of a rezone. If the Preliminary Plans are approved, a rezone will still be required. If approved by P&Z, it is anticipated the Preliminary Plans will be reviewed by the City Council at their meeting on Monday, October 19th.

Now that we've had a break from the rain, construction is continuing on the paving of the extension of Ironwood Street into Aspen Park. This extension creates an additional entrance and exit to the park in order to provide better traffic flow for residents, emergency services, and park users. Please be mindful of crews from SiteWorks Inc as they continue finishing up this project.

Great things are happening out at Spartan Emergency Response in the Burkman Industrial Park! Established in Brandon in 1985, Spartan builds fire apparatus for fire departments both close to home and around the world. This project will expand their current building to include a world-class paint facility and add a brand new assembly plant, increasing production capacity and reducing lead times.
