A New Program Year, New Connections, and Endless Possibilities!
Last week, our CB Girls in-school and after-school programs kicked off, reminding us why the work we do at Community Bridges matters so much!
From elementary school through high school, the CB Girls Program provides the consistency, encouragement, and opportunities that help girls recognize their strengths, build confidence, and see what is possible for their futures.
✨ CB High School: Led by Program Managers Dèjá Taylor and Shelley Sams, our high school students started the year with team-building activities, icebreakers, and opportunities to connect. Returning student leaders shared what Community Bridges means to them while introducing opportunities such as college trips, leadership development, Big Sister volunteering, one-on-one mentoring, and college access and success support.
✨ CB Middle School: Led by Program Manager Courtney Fookes, our middle school girls jumped into speed connections and desk ping pong! Through laughter, movement, and shared experiences, students began building friendships, discovering common interests, and strengthening their sense of community.
✨ CB Elementary School: Led by Meron Aga and Christy Ramos, our youngest CB Girls learned about Community Bridges, met their program team, and participated in interactive activities like "Egg Evolution." Students also shared their ideas about what they would like to explore and experience throughout the year, helping shape their own program experience.
Community Bridges is so much more than an after-school program. It is a safe, supportive space where girls are encouraged to discover their strengths, find their voices, develop leadership skills, and build meaningful relationships that will support them throughout their lives.
As we begin another exciting school year, we look forward to watching our CB Girls learn, lead, grow, and thrive!
