DETI 2026: The Impact Continues

This year’s Dance Educators Training Institute created space for educators to move, reflect, question, and grow with purpose.

Through cultural exchange, somatic practice, dialogue, and embodied learning, participants left with ideas that will continue beyond the workshop — into classrooms, rehearsals, studios, and community spaces.

Behind every inspired student is an educator who has been supported, challenged, and renewed. DETI helps dance educators grow as mentors and leaders, carrying new ideas, deeper reflection, and transformative practices back to the students and communities they serve.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who showed up with intention — our teaching artists, participants, partners, collaborators, funders, and supporters. Your presence and support helped make DETI 2026 a meaningful experience rooted in culture, care, reflection, and transformation.

What does it mean to truly support another person?

For ClancyWorks Dance Company, partnering is more than a choreographic technique. Through **architecturally informed partnering**, dancers lift, balance, resist, surrender, stack, and build—using physical relationships to explore trust, vulnerability, negotiation, and connection.

Sometimes the architecture is a wall. Sometimes it is a stage structure. Sometimes it is another human body.

Across the ClancyWorks repertory, these relationships ask us to consider not only how we move together, but how we create space for one another without losing our own.

After 25 years, we’re still exploring what can happen when movement becomes a way of seeing relationships differently.

In Love Strings, ClancyWorks explores the wondrous, winsome, lose-some, whirling web of human relationships—how we reach for one another, move away, become entangled, and find our way through the connections that shape our lives.

Created as a proscenium-stage evolution of Webmasters, Love Strings asks us to consider the multiple realities that can exist within a single relationship:

How do we maneuver through our own webs of life—and how do we cultivate the relationships within them?

As ClancyWorks celebrates 25 years of movement, we’re revisiting works from our repertory that continue to ask questions about how we connect, communicate, and see one another.

Today, on National Nonprofit Day, we’re celebrating the people who have made ClancyWorks Dance Company what it is. 💜

For 25 years, dancers, teaching artists, students, educators, families, audiences, partners, volunteers, funders, board members, and friends have believed in the power of dance to do more than entertain.

You have helped us create spaces where people can connect, learn, question, grow, and see one another differently.

Every performance attended, workshop shared, donation made, partnership built, class taught, and word of encouragement has helped ClancyWorks use dance to shift perceptions, strengthen communities, and create meaningful change.

A special shoutout to the ClancyWorks Dance Company Board of Directors. Your guidance, advocacy, generosity, and behind-the-scenes commitment help provide the foundation that keeps this work moving forward.

We also celebrate the perseverance of Founder and Artistic Director Adrienne Clancy, Ph.D. Her vision and determination have carried ClancyWorks through 25 years of creating, teaching, adapting, rebuilding, and moving forward. That takes resilience, courage, imagination, and an unwavering belief that the work matters.

Being a nonprofit is more than our organizational structure. It reflects why we do this work: to make the arts more accessible, invest in people, and build connection across generations and communities.
