Here’s another ‘behind the scenes’ look at one of our farmers, Hazy Foothills Permaculture. Taking care of animals is no joke, and growing vegetables here in the desert southwest is also a pretty challenging affair. My hat is off to the folks who do this and bring fresh produce, meat, milk, and cheese to the market every week. If you like what you see, come on by the market this week and fill your baskets with the freshest goodies around. We are open from 9-12 on Saturday, and we are located right next to Gough Park. Be there or be square!

Look at all of these happy people! Why are they so happy? Because they’re at the farmers’ market, duh! How can you be a part of this joy? Well, just come on down and see us on Saturday mornings from 9-12 right next to Gough Park. You can buy the freshest produce around, listen to great music, talk to old friends, or just sit and people watch. The weather once again looks beautiful for the weekend, and we would live to see you and say hello. Let’s be happy together!!

If you are like me, you can’t really get enough goat cheese in your life. We are lucky enough to have people who take the time to raise these funny little creatures, milk them, and then make cheese from the milk! It is a lot of work, but the rewards are quite delicious. So enjoy a little bit of goat zen in your day, and then come on down to the farmers’ market tomorrow to take some home with you. Maybe grab a loaf of bread or a bagel, some veggies for sautéing, or even some hot sauce to spice things up a bit.

We are open from 9-12 right next to Gough Park. Blues Fest is happening tomorrow and things will be a little crowded down there, but we look forward to seeing you and swapping some goat stories with you!

You see the veggies at the market, but you don’t always get to see where they come from. Bringing fresh veggies to market week after week means having many different crops going in succession, which takes space. Leah Villarreal with Dominguez Canyon Farms was kind enough to share these photos with me.

If you are interested in buying fresh food like this then the Silver City Farmers’ Market is a great place to go. We are open from 9-12 on Saturday mornings right next to Gough Park. There will be veggies, eggs, milk, baked goods, craft items, and so much more. We hope to see you there.

I love these little cactuses because when they bloom it means that spring is really here. Fresh fruit is starting to be available, the weather is warming up, and the market is really starting to hop. I highly recommend coming out tomorrow to see what all of the fuss is about. We are open from 9-12 right next to Gough Park. In addition to fresh fruits and veggies you can find bread, baked goods, milk, cheese, eggs, and many more items. We will see YOU there!

Hey! Guess what? It’s music season! We are pleased to announce that weekly music will be starting up again this Saturday, May 2. Thanks to KURU for curating the artists and helping out with paying them. Susan & Burt Mittelstadt will be the first to play, along with Friends of Bayo Secou. The market is open from 9-12 right next to Gough Park, and we would love to see you there enjoying some great music.

Sometimes managing the farmers market means that there is some glass to sweep up from Friday night revelers. This is not the favorite part of the job, but it is one I gladly do to help create a safe and welcoming space for our vendors and our customers. Not only is the market a great place to buy fresh, local food, but it is also a place to catch up with old friends, sit and do some wool gathering, or even listen to some music(more on that coming soon!). We hope that our space is friendly, welcoming, and feels safe for everybody. Come and see what you think this Saturday from 9-12 right next to Gough Park. You’ll be glad you did!

Ok, sorry for shouting but I am pretty excited. Fresh fruit is one of the best things in the world, and there is nothing fresher than local! If you are also a fan of fresh fruit you might want to get up early this Saturday to get your share at the market. While you are there you could also grab some freshly roasted coffee, fresh cold milk, crispy fresh veggies, and so many more things! We are open from 9-12 right next to Gough Park in Silver City, NM. We would love to see you there!
