Silver City Pick It Up-Toss No Mas

Working to make Silver City a clean & beautiful place to live by keeping our community litter free.

Silver City's Pick It Up - Toss No Mas Program is a volunteer-based program that works to make Silver City a clean and beautiful place to live by keeping our community litter free. Partially funded by a grant from the NM Department of Tourism Clean and Beautiful Program and the Town of Silver City. Coordinated by Gila Resources Information Project's Silver City Watershed Keepers in partnership wit

h Silver City-Grant County Chamber of Commerce, Silver City Recycles, Silver City MainStreet, SWNMACT, Southwest Solid Waste Authority, and the NM Department of Transportation’s Toss No Mas Program. What We Do
-Coordinate monthly Community Trash Cleanups every third Saturday of the month from 9 am - 12 pm in the Gough Park parking lot.
-Help you host your own neighborhood or employee cleanup by providing trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and trash pickup.
-Manage the Adopt-A-Roadway or Adopt-A-Waterway programs to organize volunteers to take care of piece of Silver City on a regular basis.
-Organize the Business Pledge Program to assist local businesses with litter prevention.

Our June community litter cleanup is happening tomorrow, Saturday June 20th. As families enjoy summer travels and tourists visit Silver City, let's make sure our Town's roads, parks, trails, and neighborhoods are clean, safe, and beautiful. We'd love for you to join us for a morning community litter cleanup (and bring a friend)!

Only two more days until our June community litter cleanup. This month, we are honoring National Secure Your Load day as we pick up litter and debris throughout Silver City, with a focus on our roadways. There are >32 BILLION pieces of trash along U.S. roadways and waterways. That trash can pose deadly hazards to drivers, especially on windy days. Let's work together to make Silver City a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful place to live.

The Silver City Pick It Up - Toss No Más program is honoring National Secure Your Load Day and the lives lost due to unsecured loads and roadside litter during a community litter cleanup on Saturday, June 20th, from 9 am to noon. Don’t let your load become a hazard on the road! It’s not just the law, it’s about protecting your community.

We're celebrating Air Quality Awareness Week with a community litter cleanup on Saturday, May 9th. We invite you to steward our local environment by joining a community litter cleanup. Our Earth Day cleanup is happening tomorrow! Join one of our biggest cleanups of the year and see the difference we can make when we work together to steward our beautiful planet Earth. We'll have refreshments, t-shirts for new volunteers, and some extra swag from our Great New Mexico Cleanup partners. Come check it out and clean up before heading over to Give Grandly in the park. Two more days until our Earth Day cleanup! As part of GRIP's Gila Earth Day stewardship events, we're excited to host a community litter cleanup. Give just 1-3 hours of your day to help clean up litter can make a HUGE difference for our Town, our neighbors, and our PLANET. Studies show that EVERY piece of litter in our entire country could be cleaned up if everyone would spend just 15 minutes to pick up 152 trash items. We're powerful when we work together. Join our Saturday cleanup and bring a friend!

We're gearing up for one of our biggest events of the year: our Earth Day cleanup! 🌎 Earth Day is an annual day to show your love for this wonderful planet we call home. This Earth sustains each and every one of us, providing us with food, water, air, and all the materials we use for housing, infrastructure, technology, and more. 💖 Our planet is worth thanking, cherishing, and celebrating. Our Earth Day cleanup on April 18th is one of many Gila Earth Day celebrations being hosted by GRIP programs.
