Seco Spice is a family-owned food company in New Mexico, specializing in several varieties of chile and vegetables like onions, carrots, and garlic. The Ogaz family continues century of New Mexico traditions through their farms and business. They are committed advocates for the chile industry and agriculture and see value in organizations like New Mexico Agriculture in the Classroom that inspire the next generation of farmers and ranchers.

Pumpkins - they aren't just for Halloween, but today the 1st graders at James Elementary in Portales ushered in the weekend by learning about pumpkins, pollination, and all the hard work that goes into raising these wonderful plants.

They topped off their presentation by tasting Pumpkin Pie in a Bag - Delicious! Find the recipe at https://cdn.agclassroom.org/nm/teacher/lessons/pumpkin.pdf!

We had a great time with our Mora San Miguel Farm Bureau family today! It was wonderful to get to visit with everyone and hear about the great ways Extension is working in the community. We played the Lifecycle of a Chile Pepper game to spice things up. 🌶️🌶️ Thank you for all you do to support ag education within their communities.❤️

💚 A Heartfelt Farewell and a New Beginning! 🌱

After three amazing years with New Mexico Agriculture in the Classroom, Shae Devers is starting a new chapter. She will continue supporting agricultural communities and inspiring students from her own classroom!

Shae would like to share these words about her time with us: “I'm so grateful for the experiences, connections, and memories made—traveling our beautiful state, sharing my passion for agriculture, and teaching the next generation. Connecting with New Mexico's incredible farmers, ranchers, educators, and communities has deepened my appreciation for those who make agriculture so vital to our state. These relationships and stories have truly impacted me.”

We’re excited for what's ahead for Shae and her family. We’re especially grateful for the time she shared with us, the memories we made, and the friendships we built.

Here’s to new beginnings, continued connections, and always having a heart for agriculture! 💚🌾
