Congratulations to Chief Seattle Council's Silver Beaver, Michael Scoville. A third-generation Eagle Scout, Michaelβs scouting journey began as a Cub Scout in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s. He later moved to Idaho, where he joined Troop 395 and advanced through the ranks. After a brief pause for higher education and early law career milestones, Michael returned to the organization in 2012 as a Tiger Den Leader for Pack 375 in Burien, Washington.
Over the past 14 years, Michael has transitioned from Den Leader and Cubmaster to Assistant Scoutmaster. He has shared his passion for scouting with his three sons: his older sons, Samuel and Christopher, are both Eagle Scouts, and his youngest, William, is actively pursuing the rank and upholding the tradition. Alongside his wife, Monika, Michael also served as an advisor on two Philmont treks in 2023 and 2025.
Michaelβs Council-level leadership began when his law partner, Stewart Landefeld, invited him to a Mariners/Friends of Scouting luncheon. This initial involvement evolved from hosting tables to joining the Council Board, serving as VP of Development, and ultimately leading as Council President from 2024 to 2026.
Please join us in celebrating Michael and the entire 2025 Class of Silver Beavers on August 26th at Camp Edward. Reserve a seat at https://bit.ly/silverbeavercsc
