Our Signature Program, Desert Awareness Committee, is hard at work preparing for the Prickly Pear Fest on October 31.

Volunteers are harvesting ripe prickly pears and turning them into juice, with the leftover fruit pulp saved to make prickly pear tea—making sure nothing goes to waste. It’s a true labor of love and just one of the many behind-the-scenes efforts happening to get ready for the festival. 🙌

This is such a great example of what The Holland Center is all about—bringing people and organizations together to strengthen our community. Darrell, Rebecca, and Jennifer are each playing an important role in that effort, and together they’re a wonderful example of what can happen when local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders collaborate and support one another. We’re grateful to be part of a community that believes we’re stronger when we work together.

And now you can be part of it, too! Join your neighbors at Community Fest on October 27, 5-8 pm, and help support 10 local nonprofits while enjoying a great evening together.

Purchase your $25 ticket and be part of the collaboration that makes our community stronger. ❤️ https://hollandcenter.org/event/community-fiesta-2026

And thank you Darrell Doepke Realtor for creating this special video. 🫶
