Desert Foothills Land Trust

Desert Foothills Land Trust Protecting the landscape you love. For wildlife, for people, forever. For Wildlife. For People. Forever.

Desert Foothills Land Trust connects people to nature by working with communities and partners to conserve and steward sensitive lands and species for the survival of our fragile Sonoran Desert. Land Protection
Land protection is fundamental to the Land Trust's local conservation efforts. We hold land and conservation easements, and we partner with other agencies and organizations to support and e

ncourage land protection efforts. Land Stewardship
Preserve monitoring and trail maintenance is an important part of keeping our preserves safe for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Consider becoming a part of our volunteer team and help take care of our preserves. Connecting People to Nature
Community engagement through education and outreach efforts helps connect people to nature and builds support for conservation efforts. Our work provides many ways to volunteer as well as opportunities to learn about and explore the land.

This little sunburst diving beetle is telling you something: Cave Creek's water is clean, and the stream ecosystem is healthy. This is why we protect land, so every species, big and small, has a place to belong.

"Rivers do not drink their own water; trees do not eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is… life is good when you are happy; but much better when others are happy because of you.” - Pope Francis
