Desert Foothills Land Trust

Desert Foothills Land Trust Protecting the landscape you love. For wildlife, for people, forever. For Wildlife. For People. Forever.

Desert Foothills Land Trust connects people to nature by working with communities and partners to conserve and steward sensitive lands and species for the survival of our fragile Sonoran Desert. Land Protection
Land protection is fundamental to the Land Trust's local conservation efforts. We hold land and conservation easements, and we partner with other agencies and organizations to support and e

ncourage land protection efforts. Land Stewardship
Preserve monitoring and trail maintenance is an important part of keeping our preserves safe for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Consider becoming a part of our volunteer team and help take care of our preserves. Connecting People to Nature
Community engagement through education and outreach efforts helps connect people to nature and builds support for conservation efforts. Our work provides many ways to volunteer as well as opportunities to learn about and explore the land.

Birds are on the move! Right now, millions of birds are migrating south to their winter habitat, covering incredible distances. Protected lands like our Jewel of the Creek Preserve or New River Nature Reserve provide vital sanctuary for these long-distance travelers, offering a space to rest and refuel on their journey.

Want to learn more? Check out this migration tracker to see who is moving through right now!

Our August Match Campaign was a wonderful success, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you! Together, we exceeded our goals for Sonoran Desert conservation this month.

Your gifts will help protect critical wildlife habitat, maintain our preserves, and educate the next generation about the beauty of this land.

Our work continues every day, in every season, because the desert we love deserves nothing less. We are deeply grateful to be part of a community that cares so much about protecting it. Thanks for being a part of it.

What an incredible storm we've had! We're thrilled about the rain, but remember - when it rains, please refrain!

Please give the trails time to dry before heading out. Our desert soil is fragile and easily damaged when wet. If your boots leave a track, it's too soon to hike. Thanks for helping protect the beauty of our desert!

Just hours remain to contribute to our August Match challenge. Your support helps preserve the trails you love, the open spaces wildlife depends on, and the stunning Sonoran sunsets we all treasure. Before the sun sets on this opportunity, your gift can go even further to help ensure these special places remain protected for generations to come.

Make your gift today at dflt.org/give-today, and help preserve these sunset views forever.

Your gift today could be the one that makes the difference.

The difference between continued conservation, or a lost opportunity. The difference between desert wildlife having space to roam, or having to navigate another suburb. The difference between a child falling in love with nature, or spending more time on their screen.

For this weekend only, your gift is doubled, stretching your conservation dollars farther and increasing your impact. But you have to act now.

Make your matched gift today at dflt.org/give-today, to help preserve our desert forever.

At DFLT, one of our guiding philosophies is "it's not ours, it's just our turn." We recognize that the actions we take today ripple forward for generations, and we work hard to ensure we leave our desert better for those who come after us.

During August, you have the power to amplify that impact. Thanks to generous matching donors, every dollar you give is doubled – furthering your ability to pass on the same pristine desert you fell in love with to future generations.

This is your turn to make a difference that will last long beyond our time here. Make a difference at dflt.org/give-today.
