Friendship makes life better.
At Gesher, our programs may bring people together, but it’s the friendships formed along the way that make so many of those experiences special. Friends make us laugh, cheer us on, share our adventures, and give us a place to belong. This Shabbat, we’re grateful for the friendships that have grown through Gesher and for all the moments, big and small, that friends share together.
Here’s to good friends and good times. Shabbat Shalom!

Today is National Nonprofit Day!

At Gesher, every gift helps create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to learn, connect, participate, and belong. And when we say every gift matters, we mean it. Here are just a few examples of what your support can make possible:

$18 can provide museum admission for a Gesher member.

$50 can provide one session of individualized tutoring for a student with a learning disability.

$100 can help provide the supplies, activities, and support that make Gesher’s inclusive social programming possible.

And your impact doesn’t have to be a one-time gift. A recurring monthly donation provides dependable support throughout the year, helping Gesher plan programs, provide educational support, and create more opportunities for members of the disability community.

Whether it’s $18 today, $18 each month, or another amount that is meaningful to you, your gift helps make the work of Gesher possible.

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and helps us continue doing what we do. https://gesherdr.org/donate

As students across our community settle into a new school year, Gesher’s educators are back in the classroom, providing individualized support and helping students learn, grow, and build confidence.

What a great day at the ballpark!

Last weekend, a great group of Gesher members, family, and friends headed to Chase Field for one of our favorite annual outings, Jewish Community Day with the Arizona Diamondbacks! There were smiles all around as we enjoyed an afternoon of baseball, friendship, and fun together. And to make an already terrific day even better, the D-backs brought home the win!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so much fun. We’re already looking forward to next year!

We love sharing opportunities that celebrate inclusion and help amplify the voices and experiences of people with disabilities throughout our community. Our friends at Ability360 are looking for individuals with disabilities to serve as models in upcoming marketing and promotional materials. It's a wonderful opportunity to help showcase the diversity, talent, and experiences of Arizona's disability community.

As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, let's carry its message with us all year long. Creating a more inclusive community doesn't require grand gestures. It starts with everyday interactions rooted in kindness, respect, and a willingness to listen.

Keep these simple tips in mind, and together we can help ensure everyone feels seen, valued, and welcomed, every month of the year.

We're happy to share this community opportunity from the Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix. While this is not a Gesher-sponsored event, we thought members of our community might be interested in this meaningful Jewish Southern Mission exploring the history of Jewish life in the American South and the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement through a Jewish lens.
