Ok, so here's the deal, we are still taking 2016 off :-(... BUT we will be back in full force in 2017:-). We are in the process of assembling a great crew that will keep this going for many years to come. We will notify you once we get the date as I know there are many of you that schedule your holiday around this race. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience but we are SSSSOOOOO looking forward to seeing you in 2017!!!! :-)

It absoutley crushes me to tell you this... The 2016 CCTR is CANCELED. We are terribly sorry. This is a HUGE loss for all of us. :-(

Let me start by saying you guys are awesome!!!! Then let me follow up by letting you know that THE RACE WILL CONTINUE!!!!! Kaolin Cummens, local resident and business owner of Flat Tire Bike Shop in Cave Creek is going to take it over. Kaolin, you are the BEST!!!! For those of you that have partaken, you have heard his vice as he has been our MC. He's a great guy, loves the Town of Cave Creek and loves trials and preserving open space just as much as I do. His background is mountain biking. He is not a runner. But I know with the support that I've had in the past and with the support that many of you offered, this race will continue to thrive and make money for open space.

In the event you did not receive an email from me this AM, it is with mixed emotions that I must inform you that I will be stepping away from race directing the CCTR (I'm moving out of state for a life changing adventure). Since I'm the only one running it, that means unless someone else takes it over, 2015 will have been the last race. I thank each and everyone of you, the participants, the volunteers, the Town, the businesses. This race was started to as a way to raise funds to buy 4,000 acres of open space land surrounding Cave Creek. We haven't bought the land but we are taking steps towards making that happen. Each and everyone of you should take pride in the fact that when this land is bought, you know that you played a part in it. I would love to just hand this off to someone else as this is to good to let it stop. If you are interested, please contact me. This is a well oiled machine. It's easy. :-) So with that, from the bottom of my heart and with tears in my eyes, I thank you for a wonderful 6 years. Keep on running and lets keep open space open... Korina

I just realized a mistake that I made. I had the wrong ages for the Junior division. The proper ages are 10k is 18 and under, the 5k is 15 and under.
