Tourism Leadership Council

Tourism Leadership Council The Tourism Leadership Council protects and leads the tourism community through vision, advocacy, and action. We host nationally-known events.

The Tourism Leadership Council (TLC) serves as the leading trade organization for tourism, a $3.2 billion dollar industry in Savannah. With nearly 28,000 employees who work in tourism, we protect the tourism industry through vision, advocacy, and action.
•Vision - With so many major leaders in tourism represented in the TLC membership, the right people are at the table looking at the future of to

urism.
•Advocacy - We are the second largest economic factor in the area, and coming together under one umbrella strengthens our voice.
•Action - We are involved in legislation that impacts tourism on city, county, state, and federal levels. And, we presented the last gubernatorial forum and debate in Savannah.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our August TLC Connection luncheon!

We were pleased to welcome guest speakers from SCAD - The University for Creative Careers: Vice President of Community Engagement Darrell Naylor-Johnson; Executive Director of Communications Michelle Paynter-Gavin; and Senior Director of SCAD Theaters and Festivals Christina Routhier. It was great to hear from them as they shared insights into the remarkable work happening at SCAD and discussed how our tourism and business community can better understand and take advantage of the opportunities surrounding the SCAD Film Festival.

A special thank you to our gracious hosts at Perry Lane Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Savannah for welcoming us and providing such a beautiful setting.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this luncheon a success. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!

📸 Savannah, show us what you’ve got!

We’re looking for your best photos of Savannah as we prepare to design the 18th edition of Savannah: A Southern Journey. Your photo could be selected as the cover of our beautiful coffee table book and showcased to millions of visitors from around the world.

Our unique coffee table book serves as the ultimate resource guide for our visitors and is displayed in more than 12,000 lodging rooms throughout Savannah, reaching more than 11 million guests every year.

Know someone who may be interested in our annual photo contest? Please share this post and help us spread the word! The submission deadline is Friday, October 17.

On top of tons of publicity, and the winning photo gracing the cover of thousands of books, the winner will also receive a complimentary two-night stay at one of Savannah’s most beautiful and historic hotels, along with two gift certificates to award-winning local restaurants.

Contest rules, guidelines, and submission information can be found by clicking the link below:

Today is a bittersweet day at the TLC office.

On one hand, it’s our COO Michael O’Donovan’s birthday! (Some of you may know him as “MOD,” while those of us in the office sometimes refer to him as “Dad.”)

On the other hand, tomorrow will be Michael’s last day at TLC.

Michael has been such an integral part of the TLC team for more than seven years, and he’s played a key role in so many of the amazing things we’ve been able to accomplish together. He has truly been part of the glue that holds our team together, and his leadership, humor, and friendship will certainly be missed around the office.

While we’re sad to see him go, we couldn’t be more excited for Michael and the opportunities ahead of him. We wish him nothing but continued success in this next chapter. And even though he’s leaving us for now, he will always be a part of the TLC family.

So please join us in wishing “MOD” a very happy birthday and all the best in his new journey! 🎉

Today, Savannah commemorated the 250th anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence in Georgia at Johnson Square.

On August 10, 1776, Archibald Bulloch publicly read the Declaration to Savannah’s citizens. 250 years later, that moment came to life once again in the heart of Georgia’s first city. 🇺🇸
