Garden Club of Savannah's award-winning NOGS Tour of Hidden Gardens since 1975, North of Gaston Street, held annually in Savannah, Georgia every April in historic Savannah Known for our spirit of generosity and southern hospitality, the Garden Club of Savannah was organized in March 1927, and is the oldest active garden club in the State of Georgia We provide community grants for beautification, education, conservation, and historic preservation. To attend the NOGS Tour is to enrich Savannah.

Happy Birthday to Alida Harper Fowlkes!

Today, June 8, we celebrate the birthday of Alida Harper Fowlkes (1908–1985), one of Savannah’s pioneering preservationists. Alida purchased the Greek revival mansion now known as the Harper Fowlkes House in 1939, filled it with her treasured antiques and collections.

Alida spent 45 years preserving both the home on Orleans Square and Savannah’s architectural heritage.

Visit the Harper Fowlkes House to learn more about Alida’s story and the legacy she left Savannah.

Open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays
10AM-3PM
Guided tours available. Last tour begins at 2PM.

Harper Fowlkes House is owned by the Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Georgia and operated by Coastal Heritage Society.
