Love this.

Sometimes, learning more about a problem changes what you feel you should do about it.

Christian Bale has spent 17 years building something that has nothing to do with movies.

It started after his daughter, Emmeline, was born.

While learning about foster care, he found that nearly 75% of brothers and sisters in foster care are separated from each other.

That changed the way he saw the problem.

He could imagine how painful it would be for a child to lose their parents and then be separated from their brothers and sisters too.

So Bale and his wife, Sibi, decided to help.

For years, they helped build “Together California,” a $22 million village in Palmdale made to keep foster siblings together.

The village will have 12 homes, trained foster parents, apartments for young adults leaving foster care, and a community center with therapy and other support.

Foster families and children are expected to start moving into the village by October 2026.

Bale did not just learn about the problem and move on.

Once he understood what it meant for children, he stayed with it.

After 17 years of planning, money, and hard work, the idea is finally becoming a real place.

Sometimes, learning more about a problem changes what you feel you should do about it.

The more you understand someone’s pain, the harder it becomes to ignore it.

Hey Everybody,

Savannah Sunset Market has got bad news... and good newss

This morning we sent an email with our May market dates, and we need to make a small correction.

The Eastern Wharf dates are accurate — we'll see you there on the 2nd (May 14) and 4th (May 28) Thursdays as planned. However, the Savannah Quarters date included in that email was a mistake. That market has been canceled, and we're sorry for any confusion it may have caused.

Now, the good news.

We've been working quietly with our partner farmers on something new, and today we're ready to share it. The Seed to Sunset Market Box is a limited pilot program featuring farm-sourced produce and proteins, pre-packed and ready for pickup at the market starting May 14th.

Each box is sourced from the family farms in our Seed to Sunset network. People we know, land we trust, practices we believe in.

This is a test run. We only have 25 boxes available, and we want to know if this is something our community actually wants before we build it out further. If the boxes sell, we'll have our answer.

Thank you for your grace, and for being part of what we're building.
