Another Friday Lessons Carousel from our incredibly wise Destiny Mojica-Taylor! 🌟

In this week’s lesson, Destiny shares the marketing strategy that helped her land clients during the first year of her business, The Marketing Mage. She explains how important it is to build a strong community of people you can lean on during times of need-people who may provide the support, connections, or opportunities you need to succeed without even realizing it.

Check out Destiny’s valuable insights below, and take a moment to think about who is part of your community and the genuine connections you’ve formed recently! 💡

One thing about SPARK Savannah? We know how to have FUN! 🤩

Each week, we all go home with sore cheeks from laughing and smiling so much during class. These founders bring so much passion and intensity to their businesses, but they also bring a strong sense of community and friendship through the way they support and interact with one another.

Each founder brings something unique and special to the classroom, but our favorite thing to see is the joy that fills the room when all 15 founders walk through the door. It is truly something special!

We at Startup Savannah are so grateful for the founder community we have built, and we can’t wait to welcome even more smiling faces in the future! 💙

Another special "Startup Snapshot" featuring our Operations Director, Kewaan Drayton! 🌟

Kewaan absolutely rocked it at the Junior Achievement Discovery Center of Savannah, where he shared his pro tips with United Way of the Coastal Empire on media engagement and spreading your message online for greater impact!

Nonprofits are doing incredible work every day, but too often, their stories go untold or unnoticed. In today's fast-paced, scroll-driven world, capturing attention and communicating impact requires clarity, authenticity, and simplicity.

As Kewaan shared, “One thing I’ve learned through storytelling, video production, and community work: great work doesn’t always speak for itself. You have to know how to tell the story.”

We love seeing our team members share their wisdom throughout the community while encouraging growth and development within the nonprofit sector. Way to represent Startup Savannah, Kewaan! 👏

Are you Walmart Wealthy or Gucci Broke? đź’¸

Our cohort is officially more than halfway through, but we’re not slowing down anytime soon! 🔥 Our founders are kicking things into high gear for these final sessions, and it has been so exciting to watch their growth.

Last week, our founders heard from our Director of Operations, Kewaan Drayton, about wealth management and put what they learned into practice by working through different case studies.

They also heard from special guest Sean Vega, a loan officer associated with the Small Business Assistance Corporation. A special thank-you to Sean for sharing valuable insights, answering questions, and helping our founders better understand the financial resources available to their businesses!

The next few weeks are going to be turned all the way up, so stay tuned to see what we have in store! 🚀

What’s more chic than being your own boss? 🤩

Our founders and the Startup Savannah team are some of the chicest people we know... so, of course, we had to share!

There’s nothing more chic than having the confidence to make your own business decisions, pursue your ideas, and find your unique voice through your work.

We love connecting with founders through our programs and events, supporting their journeys, and creating friendships that last far beyond the work we do together. Now that’s chic! ✨

Attention, Savannah!!!! 🚨

We could not be more excited to share some special news: We are launching a brand-new program specifically for high school students called Georgia FLEX!

In partnership with the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA), we are bringing this impactful competition to local students… and things are about to heat up! 🔥

So, what exactly is FLEX? The Foundational Leadership and Entrepreneurship Experience (FLEX) is an entrepreneurship program that introduces high school students to the business world through hands-on experiences and mentorship. FLEX participants create real businesses, offer real products and services, and make real money. All while gaining valuable skills and connections.

With support from local business partners and community leaders, students will compete in three rounds until a local winner is selected. The local FLEX champion will then advance to the statewide competition!

Applications are officially OPEN as of today (8/24)! The application will remain available through September 24th at 11:59 PM. This program is exclusively for high school students who are ready to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit.

We cannot wait to meet Savannah’s young entrepreneurs and watch this incredible program come to life.

Let’s do this! 🚀

What does trying something new, like pickleball, have to do with being an entrepreneur? More than you might think! 🏓

As entrepreneurs, we are constantly adapting, navigating uncertainty, and stepping outside our comfort zones. Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or launching a new idea, growth requires courage, communication, and a willingness to keep learning.

Here are three rules you can take from the pickleball court and apply to running your business! 🌟
