We are devastated by the passing of Paige Morrison, co-founder of and the woman who always believed in our mission. After a courageous fight against Stage IV colon cancer, Paige passed in her home surrounded by family and friends. We will always remember the dedication she had to this organization that she helped build from the ground up. Her passion for this mission was seen throughout the years she gave to DUET Kids.

We cannot express the gratefulness we hold for all she has done. Paige will be sincerely missed, and we will continue the mission that she started with DUET Kids, which is that music is for every child, and this is something that Paige wholeheartedly believed.

Paige’s light, compassion, and belief in the power of music touched every student, volunteer, and family she met. Though her melody has ended, her music will play on in every child she inspired.

DUET Kids, represented by our founders Faith and Grace Morrison, had the honor of receiving the Savannah Downtown Neighborhood Association 2025 grant for its programs serving the local community. We appreciate all of the work and effort of not only our program volunteers and staff, but also the children and parents who participate in our programs and make it possible to share the love of music. Thank you again Savannah Downtown Neighborhood Association for choosing to support us in spreading the passion and learning experiences that providing no-cost, easily accessible music lessons allows us to do for our community!

WHO WE ARE:

DUET Kids provides no-cost musical education, instruments, and digital music creation for at-risk, underserved, and low-income students. Through partnerships cultivated within the public school systems, local emergency shelters, and after-school programs for at-risk populations, DUET Kids has created a highly successful program: pairing young students with high school and college students in our Student Teaching Students Initiative to conduct private musical instruction.

Definitive scientific studies have proven that young children who experience music instruction increase the structures within their brains responsible for learning and understanding academics, elevate standardized scores and STEM subjects, and foster feelings of involvement and a sense of belonging in their community.

Our organization is devoted to bringing access to music education to the children of Savannah and breaking down the barriers that has historically prevented children from certain socioeconomic backgrounds from learning and participating in music classes.
