💙 It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week 💙

We’re proud to recognize our incredible partners at The Giving Circle. Your compassion and commitment to individuals at our Adelphi Street Shelter make a real and lasting impact.

A special thank you to Jay Scarborough, who delivers lunch daily and prepares and serves breakfast sandwiches every Saturday morning—your kindness shows up in ways that truly matter.

Thank you for being such an important part of this work—and our community.

Another Giving Circle success story! Meet Donnie P. After about a decade of homelessness and more years living in a dark, cramped one-room studio, a Giving Circle team recently moved Donnie into a new two-bedroom apartment, filled with light and appliances so he can cook more easily. Donnie is now thriving, even resuming painting on canvas. Your contributions of time, talent and, yes, a little treasure help us to help people here in Saratoga Springs and across the world. Thank you!

Thanks to your generosity and initiative shown by Dr. Al Cenerazzo, we have been able to purchase a wheelchair for a severely disabled boy in Uganda. This little guy was being seen by our physicians last summer. We discovered the boy had been orphaned and was being carried everywhere by his grandmother. As The Giving Circle routinely does, we changed the trajectory of the boy’s life with a simple act of kindness. One last thank you to Emma Walubi for driving to Kampala to pick up the chair … and on sale no less!

Two slots have opened up for The Giving Circle's summer delegation to our projects in Uganda. It's early in the process so there's time to jump in for the "on boarding." We depart on Sunday, June 28 and arrive back in the US on the morning of July 9. We have a number of exciting projects planned, including a community survey into child malnutrition; outfitting children with eyeglasses; clothing distribution and, of course, three days of "medical camp" at our clinic in Mutai. Reach out to trip coordinator Carl Korn or leave a comment. Prediction: It will be among the meaningful 10 days of your life!

Registration is now open for The Giving Circle's Compassion Awards dinner. Here's your chance to enjoy a nice meal while supporting our wonderful organization -- one that's making a difference locally and overseas. This year, we'll be honoring Ron and Karyl Maenza and our partnership with the Franklin Community Center's Lift Program while celebrating Year One of our new medical clinic in the Ugandan village of Mutai.

This year we are celebrating the long standing partnership with The Giving Circle and The Franklin Community Center. We will be honoring The Giving Circle founding members Ron and Karyl Maenza, and Franklin Community Center Project Lift Program Director, Abbie Aldrich.

Our tremendous volunteers continue to offer kindness and compassion to the unhoused through RISE Housing and Support Services, serving meals on Thursday nights. Thank you to Joyce Rice, husband Phil and coordinator Rachael Dwyer for your continuing commitment. The next opportunity to help is February 12. Reach out to see how you can make a difference.

Looking to make your mark on the world? The Giving Circle has been working in Uganda for nearly 15 years, taking teams of volunteers to support education and health care in the communities we support. We'll be returning June 28 to July 9, and we're inviting volunteers. If you'd like to learn more about this amazing, life-affirming experience, reach out to trip coordinator Carl Korn or leave a message here.
