We'll soon be wiring funds to pay for Jonathan's medical care. Will you help?

Jonathan Wadide is 4 years old and desperately needs our help.

Members of The Giving Circle’s summer team learned of Jonathan’s plight shortly after our outreach in the small village of Lwanbogo, on the other side of the vast sugar cane fields bordering our Kagoma Gate Friendship School and our new medical clinic in Mutai.

Jonathan is suffering from sickle cell, jaundice and an enlarged spleen, possibly due to malaria, a blood infection or parasites as well as sickle cell crisis. With support from The Giving Circle, Jonathan visited a pediatrician, who determined he must be admitted to a pediatric hospital, where he can receive a blood transfusion and other critical care. We are unsure of Jonathan’s prognosis or the total cost of his treatments. We are sure, however, that without medical care, Jonathan will likely die. And, we are also sure that Jonathan and other desperately poor children like him in Uganda are worth fighting for.

The Giving Circle-Uganda is raising money to support Jonathan’s care, with any leftover funds dedicated to helping other special medical cases. Please give generously, or whatever amount feels right. Together, we can help save Jonathan’s life at: https://mp.giving/57qkw0

Fresh off The Giving Circle 2026 summer trip, our own Ron Deutsch sat down with Media Sanctuary for an interview to talk about the experience -- and all we accomplished.

In 2011, the Ugandan Government asked The Giving Circle in Saratoga to visit a village referred to as “the forgotten people – the poorest village in Uganda.” The Giving Circle responded by improving sanitation, building a school, a nursing/midwife clinic, and a communal kitchen for shared meal...

Another Giving Circle success story! Meet Donnie P. After about a decade of homelessness and more years living in a dark, cramped one-room studio, a Giving Circle team recently moved Donnie into a new two-bedroom apartment, filled with light and appliances so he can cook more easily. Donnie is now thriving, even resuming painting on canvas. Your contributions of time, talent and, yes, a little treasure help us to help people here in Saratoga Springs and across the world. Thank you!
