📍 Saratoga Springs, NY The 65+ members of the Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs (NY) meet weekly (the first three Wednesdays of the month) for breakfast and a program at The Embassy Suites, Wednesdays, 7:45-8:45. The fourth Wednesday of the month we have a Happy Hour event at a local establishment. The Club's annual late-winter Home Show is its major fundraiser.

The U.S. is facing a severe shortage of skilled trades workers, with Home Builders Institute CEO Ed Brady citing around 300,000 unfilled positions in trades such as plumbing, electrical work, painting, and HVAC — a gap that is straining housing, infrastructure, and commercial projects. Locally, the Northeast Construction Trades Workforce Coalition is doing something about that! We were excited to hear from Doug Ford and Pam Stott and how they are encouraging students to pursue these types of careers. The Saratoga Springs Rotary members had a great time volunteering at the annual Pumpkin Roll, hosted by the Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association. Perfect weather, lots of families, and participating kids received a coupon for free ice cream from Ben and Jerrys!

The Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs was well represented at the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Showcase recently. We met lots of local businesses and shared what it means to be a Rotarian and how we follow Service Above Self.

The Saratoga Springs Rotary was pleased to welcome Abbie Aldrich from Franklin Community Center's Project Lift. Since 1984, Project Lift has been dedicated to positively impacting the lives of our community’s youth. This free, referral-based after-school prevention and support program serves students in grades 1–5 across all six elementary schools in the district. A complementary program for sixth graders at the middle school focuses on strengthening self-esteem and fostering meaningful connections to school.

There is always something happening at the Saratoga Rotary's weekly meetings. At a recent meeting we had internal presentations regarding the development of our quarterly newsletter, enhancements to our website, and the recent Positive Peace Conference at the Saratoga Library. We even had a lucky 50/50 winner!

The Saratoga Springs Rotary Club was happy to assist in the recent “A Day Without Cancer” event sponsored by Saratoga Hospital. This event, also called the Cancer Survivor Retreat, is a day‑long, no‑cancer‑talk experience where participants enjoy relaxation, wellness activities, and social connection in a natural environment

It is organized in partnership with the Wiawaka Retreat Center in Lake George and supported by Saratoga Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Center

The Saratoga Springs Rotary Club was happy to be a part of supporting the Bob Reed Memorial golf tournament this past weekend. Bob was a former CFL and NFL fullback, and also a local Rotarian with a vision to help young people across all demographics and backgrounds. He committed his life to community service, and youth mentorship serving on numerous boards in the local community. Proceeds from this event will go towards the Salvation Army’s Children’s Christmas Gift Program and the Frederick Allen Elks Lodge annual scholarship program. Thank you, Bob, for a life of “Service Above Self”.
