We are incredibly proud to share that our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Erin Christopher-Sisk, has been recognized as one of the 2026 Women of Distinction by Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner.

This honor is so incredibly well deserved. Erin’s vision, compassion, and dedication have helped create a place where both horses and humans can heal, grow, and feel supported. From building Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga from the ground up to expanding access to mental health services for individuals, children, families, Veterans and Service Members, her impact continues to reach far beyond our farm gates.

We are also deeply grateful to Assemblywoman Woerner for continuing this meaningful tradition of recognizing so many remarkable women in our community each year. Celebrating leaders who are making a difference helps shine a light on the power of service, compassion, and community connection.

An Evening of Art, Film, and Connection 🎨

📅 May 8 | 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Saratoga Arts

This May, we are proud to kick off Mental Health Awareness Month with a special community event.

As part of the Horses for Mental Health Campaign, we are joining organizations across the country to raise awareness for mental health and the many ways healing can take shape.

Join us for an interactive evening that brings together art, storytelling, and shared experiences, all centered around connection and community.

✨ What to expect:
• A first look at two new mini films about our work, followed by a Q and A with local filmmaker Michael McCabe
• A community painting experience led by local artist Jean Ellen Sotansky
• A book signing with Saratoga author Melissa Trombetta
• Local organizations sharing mental health resources, including American Foundation for Su***de Prevention Capital Region, Healing Springs Recovery Community and Outreach Center, and The Prevention Council of Saratoga County

Light refreshments will be served with support from The Saratoga Winery, and guests are invited to explore the newly renovated studio spaces throughout the evening.

At Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga, we see every day how powerful the horse human connection can be in supporting mental health. This evening is about bringing that experience into the community and creating space for awareness, conversation, and connection.

We were incredibly honored to welcome the National Commander of the American Legion, along with his team and some of our local American Legion friends, to the farm.

Moments like this mean a lot to us. To share our space, our horses, and the work we do in support of Veterans and Service Members with those who have dedicated their lives to serving others… it is something we do not take lightly.

We are so grateful for the continued support, the partnership, and the shared commitment to those who have served. And to our national and local American Legion community, thank you for always showing up, standing beside us, and believing in this work.

As we close out Volunteer Appreciation Month, we had the chance to celebrate the very best of the best with the best of the very best!

A HUGE, big, gigantic thank you to our friends at Franklin Square Market for hosting our Volunteer Appreciation Night. Truly… wow. The food, the hospitality, and the little details they put into everything they do are exceptional! The way their team shows up for us, not just for this night but again and again, never goes unnoticed. They are the kind of partners every nonprofit hopes for, always saying yes and always showing up in a big way.

And to our volunteers… this night was all about you. Because of you, our programs run, our horses are cared for, and our mission keeps moving forward every single day. It is your time, your heart, and your willingness to show up that keeps our small but mighty organization going.

We are truly honored to be selected as a beneficiary of Poker for Ponies during Derby Week!

This event has quickly become something pretty special, bringing together leaders in the racing community around a shared commitment to Thoroughbred aftercare. To be included as one of a small group of organizations doing this work means a great deal to us and to the horses we serve.

A sincere thank you to Resolute Racing and their team for the thought and intention behind this event. Their commitment to aftercare and to supporting horses beyond their racing careers is something we truly respect and appreciate.
