Thanks to eveyone who came to celebrate Kiarra yesterday as she winds down her time at the Selby Foundation before heading to Atlanta. The mark she has made on community, students, partners, and colleagues is deeply felt in our hearts.

It's a fascinating journey to see how local nonprofits are integrating AI into their work to create more efficiencies, creativity, and effectiveness. Some of the technology solutions we have invested in are incorporating AI in unexpected ways. Every year our President/CEO Susie Bowie enjoys learning from Future Leaders Academy students at UnidosNow during her presentations about business etiquette and interviewing. Imagine how excited she was to see 2026 Selby Scholar Isabella Castro-Cardona, interning at the organization before she starts her Fall semester at Yale University. Go, Isabella!

Tammy Flores was our second Selby Scholar alumni intern. We learned from her work with our Regional Scholarship Providers Network and our new group of Selby Scholars. We're glad she had a positive experience too!

“I’ll take everything I learned from this experience into the world with me as I continue along pursing my future career goals. While also continuing my efforts to always be a source of positivity in the world.”

Our team of board and staff members are grateful for the opportunity to help carry out the legacy of Bill and Marie Selby. Earlier this week, we gathered at Fork & Hen to celebrate Susan Hines for two years of service as Board Chair and Kiarra Womack for five years of service as Senior Scholarship Manager. In every conversation, we are grateful for servant leaders and our amazing community.
