There’s a lot happening at Suncoast Charities for Children, and we’re excited to share the latest news with you!

In this month’s update, Executive Director Lucy Nicandri highlights:
✅ Our newly released Community Impact Report, showcasing recent funding allocations to 10 local nonprofit agencies serving children, teens, and adults with special needs.
✅ The addition of four new agency partners: Miracle League, St. Mary Academy, Inclusion Revolution, and Oak Park School.
✅ Upcoming events, including the sold-out 10th Annual Bob Rizi Memorial Golf Classic, Camp Shriver, and the exciting Motors & Moorings weekend featuring Lei’d Back for a Great Cause on June 26-27.

Thanks to the support of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, we continue to invest in critical programs and services that improve lives right here in our community.

A well-deserved recognition for one of Thunder By The Bay's longest-standing supporters. Thank you, USA Fence, for 27 years of partnership, generosity, and dedication to our community. Please join us in congratulating them on receiving this year's Behind The Scenes Award! 👏🏍️

For 27 years, USA Fence has been a valued partner of Thunder By The Bay, helping make our event possible through their incredible generosity and commitment to our community.

For more than five decades in business, USA Fence has supported countless charitable causes throughout the Suncoast. Since Thunder By The Bay began, they have generously donated bicycle barricades and fencing for the event, never charging for labor or delivery—saving Suncoast Charities for Children thousands of dollars over the years.

We were honored to recognize USA Fence with our "Behind The Scenes" Award at this year's Thunder By The Bay Sponsors & Volunteer Appreciation Reception. Accepting the award were Shannon Glasgow and his wife, Morgan.

This recognition is especially meaningful as we remember company founder Butch Glasgow, who recently passed away. Butch's generosity, kindness, and unwavering support of local nonprofits touched countless lives throughout our community. His legacy of giving continues to make a lasting impact, and he will be greatly missed.

Thank you to Shannon, Morgan, and the entire USA Fence team for continuing a tradition of service that has helped Thunder By The Bay and so many other charitable organizations thrive.

Big hearts and small coins made a BIG impact 💙

Throughout the month of April, Bloom Academy Preschool staff, children, and families joined together for their “Coins for Change” fundraiser, collecting coins across all five locations from Naples to Charlotte County.

Their amazing efforts raised $1,583.33 for Suncoast Charities for Children, helping support programs and services for local children, teens, and adults with special needs.

A special thank you to Aqua Plumbing & Air for their continued support of Suncoast Charities for Children!

Co-Owners Chuck Jacobson and Skip Stanton have been dedicated supporters of our mission for many years, serving as Presenting Sponsors of the Bob Rizi Memorial Charity Golf Classic and supporting several Suncoast Charities fundraisers throughout the year. Their generosity also extended beyond event sponsorship, as they provided valuable in-kind services during our office relocation last year.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As we spend time with family, friends, and community this holiday weekend, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, service, and supporting one another.

At Suncoast Charities for Children, we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy and remain committed to helping local children, teens, and adults with special needs live fuller, happier lives through the support of our generous community.
