We are honored to share that our therapy team has scored in the highest possible category for Sexual Abuse Treatment Programs in Florida, continuing the program's 7-year streak.

Seven years of consistent excellence doesn't happen by accident. It reflects a team of clinicians and supervisors who show up every day with patience, exceptional skill, the drive to continuously learn and improve, and deep care for every child and family they serve.

It also reflects you. Every donation and every referral helps make sure children in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties have access to highly specialized, trauma-informed care that helps them feel safe, heard, and hopeful as they travel their journey of healing.

Five years ago, the Skye Ranch Witches Ride chose the Child Protection Center as its very first beneficiary. This year, they're bringing it full circle, and our hearts are so full! 💜

We're honored to be the 2026 Beneficiary Charity of the Year for the 5th Anniversary Witches Ride. What started as a little Halloween magic has grown into one of our community's most beloved traditions, bringing neighbors together, supporting local businesses, and raising nearly $100,000 for local charities.

Thank you to and every witch who rides, cheers, and gives. With 100% of your registration fee going directly to our work in the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse, your support helps protect children and helps families heal right here in our very own community.

CPC staff are wearing purple today for to stand with survivors of domestic violence and the children and families affected by it.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and purple has become a symbol of courage, survival, and a shared commitment to ending abuse. The impact of domestic violence is devastating for survivors and the children who have witnessed it. That's why our work, from prevention education in local schools to our supervised visitation program, which helps children stay connected to family in a safe and supportive setting, is built around the belief that everyone deserves to know their home is a place of safety.

By wearing purple today, our community is helping to:
✔️ Start important conversations
✔️ Break the silence surrounding domestic violence
✔️ Show survivors they are not alone

We had our Celebrity Bartender Challenge last week, and what a night!! An incredible $9,739 was raised in support of vulnerable children and survivors of child abuse. Thank you again to everyone who made this possible 💙

Please join us in welcoming Patrick Duggan to CPC’s Board of Directors!

Duggan currently focuses on employment law and litigation at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, where he serves as Public Sector Industry Sector Co-Chair. Before entering private practice, he served as a prosecutor in Sarasota and Manatee counties and as in-house counsel for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

Patrick has a lengthy history of advocating for the health and safety of survivors of abuse. He recently concluded ten years on the board of Safe Place and R**e Crisis Center (SPARCC), the last two of which he served as board chair.

“I am honored to join the Child Protection Center’s Board and to continue my commitment to protecting children and strengthening our community,” said Duggan. “I look forward to working alongside the dedicated team at CPC to help create a community where every child is safe, supported, and free to thrive.”

We are deeply grateful to Patrick for his devotion to our mission and the wellbeing of our community. His partnership will be a tremendous asset as we continue expanding our services!

You've got a free morning of Halloween fun waiting in North Port!

Our first-ever Runaway Pumpkin Family Fest is less than three weeks away, and it's packed with fun for local kids! Face painting, pumpkin painting, trick-or-treating, a puppy pit with our PAWS therapy dogs, arts and crafts, giveaways, games, and more - all free and open to everyone, no race registration needed! We'll also have food trucks and a mini market with goodies for sale.

Your little pumpkin's costume deserves a spotlight, too! Our kids' costume contest is split by age group, with winners getting a special sweet prize:

Our Children and Families Supervised Visitation Program gives parents and children the chance to spend time together in a safe, supportive setting. Last year, our volunteers helped make 464 visits possible, and every one was a chance for families to build positive moments and meaningful memories.

As a volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming space, stay neutral and attentive, and encourage hope one visit at a time.

Cheers to the impact of community! 🍹 Last night our celebrity bartenders shook and poured their way to raising $9,739.00 for local kids, enthusiastically bringing their friends and peers into the world of child advocacy and kicking off our Night of Hope & Healing season in the best way.

A huge thank you to Brewburgers Back Porch, our incredible bartenders, and everyone who came out for the children and families who need us most.
