The Begining
My name is Christine Redfield. I am an ER/Trauma pharmacist. I am used to being on the front lines during peoples worst moments. I have always felt the need to do something profound, something that would make a difference. For years I searched for that something. So on March 23, 2020 as I sat watching TV, I thought, I have to do something.....I changed the sheets on the bed, and did two loads of laundry, but that was just not profound enough! So then and there the Red Ribbon Unity Project was born. I knew that social distancing along with the current health crisis would have a huge impact on the very core of everyone’s life. In the times of greatest stress is when we need one another; a hand to hold, a hug, a pat on the shoulder, but that’s not what we can do right now. So these ribbons, being hung in every neighborhood, in every state, and hopefully eventually worldwide, will be that air hug, that profound thank you to every single person working the front lines whether in hospitals, pharmacies, public services, grocery stores, and many more so you and I are able to do our part and stay safe, stay home, and stay united.
