We stumbled across this incredible live lightning whelk during a recent tour. After taking a few quick photos to admire all those details, we flipped him right back over and let him safely continue on his way.

🐬💗 EVER WONDER WHY SOME DOLPHINS HAVE PINK BELLIES? 💗🐬

That beautiful pink belly you sometimes see on our bottlenose dolphins can happen when increased blood flow brings warm blood closer to the surface of their lighter colored skin. Because the belly has less pigmentation, that extra blood flow can give it a noticeable rosy or pink appearance. The pink coloring may become especially noticeable when dolphins are active, excited, or regulating their body temperature. 🐬
