"Fasting and the Longevity Revolution” - Documentary by Academy Award Nominees Barry Alexander Brown (Director), Edward Norton (Narrator), and Chiara Tilesi (Producer). Inspired by Dr. Valter Longo’s research and books.

Nutrition plays an important role in longevity. Beyond genetics, daily dietary choices can shape long-term health outcomes. From California to the Andes in Ecuador, and through Sardinia, Campania, and Calabria in southern Italy, the documentary explores the science of fasting, plant-based nutrition, and the lifestyles of populations renowned for their extraordinary longevity.

Among these stories, the journey to Ecuador sheds light on people with Laron syndrome, a rare genetic condition caused by growth hormone receptor deficiency, which appears to provide remarkable protection against cancer, diabetes, and certain age-related diseases, including cardiovascular disease.

Through expert insights into fasting, nutrition, and genetics, the film invites viewers into a powerful conversation about how we may live longer and healthier lives.

Try this simple, delicious berry chia jam with with mood-boosting ingredients.

Chia seeds = a great source of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats and soluble fiber, which helps mood by influencing the gut-brain axis.

Berries = rich in anthocyanins, colorful antioxidants that support brain health by reducing neuroinflammation and oxidative stress.

This recipe uses frozen berries to save money, and comes together in less than 10 minutes.

Make it even more gut-friendly by pairing it with a source of probiotics such as yogurt.

A new perspective on obesity, diabetes, and metabolic health is emerging, one that goes beyond disease management and focuses on prevention, nutrition, lifestyle, and longevity.

As GLP-1 medications are increasingly used worldwide, The Weight of Longevity highlights the importance of nutrition and lifestyle interventions, sometimes before drug-centered approaches, as essential tools to improve metabolic health and reduce risk factors. The book also addresses potential serious side effects associated with these medications, including loss of muscle mass.

In The Weight of Longevity, Professor Valter Longo presents an alternative framework based on four core interventions: the daily Longevity Diet, time-restricted eating, five-day fasting-mimicking diet cycles, and regular physical exercise.

May 16th, International Celiac Disease Awareness Day.

Understanding the difference between medical necessity and dietary trends is essential when talking about gluten-free nutrition.

For people with celiac disease, nutrition guidance plays a key role in supporting long-term health, nutrient adequacy, and everyday food choices. For everyone else, removing gluten without a clear reason may not offer the benefits many assume.

Awareness begins with accurate information and personalized care.

Physical activity doesn’t only support the body. It can also play an important role in mental health.

A growing body of research suggests that exercise may help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, while also supporting overall psychological wellbeing.
In clinical settings, structured programs that combine movement and healthy lifestyle habits have shown promising results, including improvements in mood, self-esteem, and emotional balance.

Taking care of mental health can also start from everyday habits.

Meal timing can play an important role in overall health.

Research suggests that limiting food intake to an approximately 11–12 hour window, and finishing the last meal a few hours before going to bed, may support metabolic health by helping regulate circadian rhythm, sleep, hormones, and digestion.

This is one of the key principles of the longevity diet approach, which combines a plant-forward eating pattern with time-restricted eating to help support energy levels, blood sugar balance, and overall well-being.

At Create Cures Foundation, we help translate these evidence-based principles into personalized nutrition plans tailored to individual lifestyles and health goals.
