Important updates for our community
We want to share two immigration updates that may affect people applying for green cards or renewing DACA.
USCIS recently issued a new policy memo that may make some green card applications filed from inside the United States more difficult.
This process is called adjustment of status.
Adjustment of status has not ended. The law has not changed. But immigration officers may now ask more questions about why someone should be allowed to complete the green card process in the United States instead of leaving for consular processing.
Please do not leave the United States or make decisions about consular processing without speaking to a trusted immigration legal representative first.
Every case is different, and you deserve guidance before making big decisions.
DACA renewals are also taking longer for most recipients.
These delays can affect work permits, driver’s licenses, jobs, income, and family stability.
If your DACA expiration date is coming up, it is important to plan ahead and talk to a trusted legal representative about renewal timing.
What is Contigo doing?
We are dedicating more time to clients with adjustment and DACA cases.
We are preparing stronger applications, helping clients get ready for new interview questions, and contacting DACA clients earlier about renewals.
We are also closely watching these changes so our community has clear, accurate information.
If you know someone applying for a green card or renewing DACA, please share this update with them.
Contigo is here with our community. Immigrant families deserve dignity, clear information, and strong legal support.
