Santa Fe's housing future is being shaped right now — and your voice matters. Show up tomorrow night if you can, or fill out the survey to make sure your thoughts and priorities are heard. Either way, don't sit this one out.

🏘️ This week! Have a Voice in Santa Fe’s Housing Future 🏘️

The City of Santa Fe Office of Affordable Housing invites residents to a free, bilingual Community Input Session

Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 6:30–8 p.m.
📍 Genoveva Chavez Community Center, Community Room, 3221 Rodeo Rd., Santa Fe, NM 87507

This event is free and bilingual in English and Spanish.

This session is open to everyone. Residents will hear a brief, plain-language overview of what affordable housing means in Santa Fe and have the opportunity to share priorities, concerns, and barriers.

City housing investments in 2024 and 2025 have included partnerships focused on:
• Critical home repairs and accessibility improvements
• Down payment assistance and homebuyer support
• Preserving existing affordable rental housing
• Building new income-restricted housing

The City is gathering community input to guide upcoming housing priorities and meet federal community participation requirements for HUD planning and reporting.

Thank you to the eight volunteers from Wells Fargo who joined us for a Build Day at Oshara Village. The crew spent the day making mud mortar and laying adobe bricks for a yard wall at one of the duplexes. Despite the hot day, the volunteers stayed positive, determined, and eager to get their hands dirty. Their efficient teamwork brought the duplex one step closer to completion for the partner families.

We are thrilled to announce that Angela has paid off her mortgage and is now a Habitat Homeowner!
Through hard work, determination, and the support of our amazing community, Angela has achieved a significant milestone on her journey towards secure and stable housing.
We are immensely proud to witness her success and the positive impact a safe and stable place to call home has had on her life. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this incredible accomplishment. Together, we continue to build not just houses, but forever homes and brighter futures!

Join us Friday, August 8 at 10AM outside the PERA Building in Santa Fe for the launch of the Northern New Mexico Ice Box Challenge—a unique, hands-on demonstration of how building design impacts energy use, comfort, and climate resilience.

Three tiny homes. 1,800 pounds of ice. Built to different energy codes—from outdated to ultra-efficient—these homes will sit in the sun all weekend, showing how smart construction keeps homes cool and energy bills low.

Event Highlights:
-Live ice loading into all 3 homes
-Tours + photo ops

-Remarks from partners & project leaders

Location: PERA Building Lot (1120 Paseo de Peralta, near the Roundhouse)
Time: 10AM sharp

This is the first-ever Ice Box Challenge built entirely by high school students—don’t miss this powerful display of climate solutions in action.
