All Within My Hands Foundation is dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and critical local services. We’ve played concerts and festivals such as The Bridge School Benefit Concerts, Live Earth and Global Citizen, donated proceeds from ticket sales and album releases to various charitable organizations including Fondation de France

’s Give For France and Gilda’s Club NYC, and met with many Make-A-Wish participants. Long time advocates of local food banks, we give back at every tour stop in North America and in the Fall of 2016 celebrated the release of our current album with a series of five shows, donating proceeds from all ticket sales to food banks in New York City, London, Toronto, Los Angeles and Oakland. All Within My Hands is taking things to the next level. While the band will continue to support many causes through benefit concerts (for example, the recent Band Together Concert to support Napa, Sonoma and the surrounding counties after the Northern California wildfires), AWMH is intended to have an even greater impact through a sustained and focused philanthropic commitment and hope to inspire others to join us in making the world a better place through local community support.

Meet Estella, one of our in CCAC’s Skilled Trades Academy. Estella has shown great enthusiasm and engaged with instructors and fellow students across all aspects of the program. Laying the groundwork for success, Estella plans to pursue a welding certification after graduating from high school in 2027!

Meet Dallin, one of our studying Surgical Technology at Salt Lake Community College.

“The Metallica Scholars Initiative is helping me financially go to school, pursue an in-demand field in healthcare, and gain hands-on experience. After graduation, I’m looking forward to working in outpatient surgery, possibly plastic surgery or general surgery – I’ve also considered traveling contracts. I want to thank Metallica for making this partnership possible and for supporting the Surg Tech labs that allow students like me to practice and prepare for the operating room.”

One of our new Year 8 Initiative grant recipients, Monroe Community College, is using its funding to enhance the student experience and career readiness within the school’s Optical Systems Technology program. Through scholarships, individualized success coaching, industry site visits, conference participation, and other experiential learning opportunities, students are preparing for high-demand careers in the optics and photonics industry.

Last week, we celebrated our fifth annual gathering at the stunning WSU Tech campus in Wichita, Kansas! This event brought together our MSI partner schools, including our new colleagues from Capital City College in London, to reflect, network, and share best practices.

A huge thank you to our dedicated advisors and core team for making this event informative, honest, and fun. We're excited about the productive conversations and collaborating to make a powerful impact in workforce education!

For this week’s , we’re celebrating the power of ambition and renewable energy!

Meet Orlando, one of our in Columbia Gorge Community College's Electro-Mechanical Technology program. While still enrolled in the program, Orlando has already taken strides towards his goal of sustaining the renewable energy infrastructure in his Pacific Northwest community. Through his internship with Avangrid, Orlando is actively putting his electrical, mechanical, and fluid power skills to work, maintaining and repairing wind turbines at a local wind farm.

So many of our share a journey of overcoming obstacles or preconceived notions, of others or within themselves, to experience great success and professional fulfillment.

Meet Brandilyn, a full-time triple-threat. She works 40 hours per week, takes 18 credit hours at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and cares for her three-year-old daughter. Between her full schedule and financial stress, she is no stranger to challenges.

“I initially hesitated to enter this field because it is male-dominated. Even after applying to and being accepted into the Process Operations program, I felt nervous walking into my first class. Since that first day, however, I have fallen in love with this field. I continually push myself to do the very best I can. The Metallica Scholars Initiative scholarship is helping me continue my education so that I can succeed in this incredible field and provide a stable future for my family.”

Brandilyn, we admire your hardworking spirit and determination. Your daughter has one hell of a role model to look up to!

Now in its fourth year with our Initiative, South Central College uses its grant funding to support students training in carpentry, phlebotomy, machine tool technology, mechatronics, and welding programs. By opening the door to empower more students to become certified skilled tradespeople, the surrounding community becomes stronger and more sustainable.

It’s , and we’re taking our spotlight to the kitchen. Meet Jayden, one of our in WSU Tech’s Culinary Program.

Jayden shows determination and dedication to developing their craft and has displayed the ability to overcome setbacks and resolve conflicts. An extremely hard worker, Jayden is not only a full-time student but also maintains a full-time job, all while exhibiting a positive attitude and energy.

Nick is one of our Mechanical Engineering training at Middlesex Community College Passionate about applied learning, Nick has not just competed in the SkillsUSA Championships—the premier showcase of America’s most highly skilled career and technical education students—but he earned a Silver Medal!

“I would want to thank Metallica for supporting students like me who may never have had the chance to take a J-Standard Prep/Hand Soldering class without their support. Their support will help build my future, and I would be forever grateful for that.”

A first-year member, Fletcher Technical Community College uses its grant funding to support students in Construction programs, through scholarships, tools, and certification fees to promote persistence and workforce entry. That is how you invest in the community by investing in the individual!
