Patti Fox, our Program Director, attended the June San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce Membership Mixer hosted by Lumina Alliance. The event provided an opportunity to connect with local business and community leaders and learn more about the work being done throughout the region.

MCSC Women's Business Center was one of several featured community partners, along with the Alzheimer's Association Central Coast, Access Central Coast, and San Luis Obispo County Housing Trust Fund. Thank you to Lumina Alliance for hosting the event and for highlighting organizations that provide valuable services and resources in our community.

Client Spotlight: Chef Cresencio “Chencho” Villar has spent years building a reputation for exceptional food and hospitality on the Central Coast. After helping grow Corazon Cafe in Downtown San Luis Obispo, he took the next step in his entrepreneurial journey by opening La Pizca in Arroyo Grande in February 2026.

La Pizca showcases modern Latin cuisine with an elevated, creative approach while celebrating the flavors and culture that inspire Cresencio’s cooking. Throughout the process, MCSC Women’s Business Center provided ongoing support, including guidance from a bilingual business consultant who assisted with everything from lease review and pricing strategies to marketing and business planning.

Today, Cresencio continues to turn his vision into reality, growing his restaurant presence one location at a time and bringing new dining experiences to San Luis Obispo County.
