On Tax Day 2024, Bay Area activists shut down the Golden Gate Bridge for over four hours to protest U.S. support for the siege on Gaza. Just this week the GG26 case finally came to a close. Seven protesters were sentenced to 30 days in jail and probation on misdemeanor convictions, while the DA dropped the felony charges a jury refused to convict them on.

Tomorrow at our swap, educators can pick up a pack of four zines telling their story. We hope what they learn leads to more conversations about and awareness of the case and of Palestine.

Cancel Amazon and put that Prime membership money somewhere that isn’t helping fund software for warfare against Palestinians. Support an independent bookstore instead.

We went to Midnight Books LA to buy books, and they ended up donating even more books and zines for us to give away at our community swaps so we can reach more readers.

Together with Black Panther Party San Diego (The San Diego Black Panthers) and The Panther Party San Diego (The Panther Party San Diego), we’re collecting books to help build classroom libraries for educators serving students in alternative learning programs.

We’re especially looking for:
• Author copies, sample copies, extra copies, and signed editions
• Stories centered on children and communities of color
• New and gently used children’s and teen books

1️⃣ Proyecto Trans Latinas provides mutual aid, social services, advocacy, emergency assistance, and community programming for trans Latina and LGBTQ+ Latinx immigrants.

2️⃣ She Fest creates free, community-led events and workshops centering LGBTQ+ women, nonbinary people, gender-diverse people, and those who find community with them.

3️⃣ Lambda Archives Of San Diego preserves and shares LGBTQ+ history from San Diego, Northern Baja California, and Imperial County through archives, oral histories, education, and digitization.

✨ This Pride SZN, donate directly to one or more of these organizations and help sustain the work happening throughout the year.
