Love Your Wetlands Day 2026 was a smash! Hope you got into the wetlands and rekindled your ReWild flame for marsh habitats. We need to make sure we keep making restoration progress. Almost 200 people got inspired by Audrey Carver’s mural and took action to remind the Mayor why we need marsh restored—look at these individualized drawings and writings! Thanks to you all. We’ll mail them in and make sure the Mayor gets some good mail.

Join Friends of Famosa Slough and SDBA for a morning of Birdwatching while documenting the highest tides of the year! Thursday, December 4, from 9:00 am – 11:30 am at Famosa Slough (meet us 4285 W. Pt. Loma Blvd. SD 92107) to witness the King Tides! The highest tides of the year, and see what our future shoreline could look like!

The tide peaks at 7.33 ft at 7:39 AM, in the San Diego River, but because of the Slough’s unique hydrology, it will be highest about three hours later, ~10:30am

The ReWild Coalition Turned 101!

If you missed Thursday’s ReWild Celebration, you missed an amazing night with our wetland-loving community! Nearly 100 people came out to reconnect, laugh, and share updates on all the important work happening for our wetlands.

The biggest moment of the night? Pam Heatherington received the Jim Peugh Conservation Award! Jim Peugh and Muriel Spooner shared beautiful remarks about Pam’s incredible dedication (now up on the ReWild website), and yes there were happy tears.

Congrats, Pam!!!!

Council President LaCava also stopped by to thank Pam and encouraged all ReWild supporters to keep pushing and hold the City accountable so we see wetland restoration in our lifetime.

Huge thanks to Coronado Brewing Company (Bay Park) for hosting us—great vibes, tasty food, and refreshing drinks!
