☀️⛱️ Summer is coming to an end, and we'd like to say goodbye with a small recap of our Kids to the Coast 2026 summer camp. Over the course of four action-packed weeks, we welcomed over 90 kids with hands-on marine education and exciting outdoor coastal activities!

A huge thank you to our partners who made this possible: 🏫 Chollas Mead Elementary for hosting, 🎓 UCSD Center on Global Justice Mellon Fellows for their dedication, 🚌 Santee Unified School District for transportation, and the 🐋 California Coastal Commission for funding through the Whale Tail Grant!

☀️⛱️ El verano llega a su fin y queremos despedirlo con un resumen de nuestro campamento de verano «Kids to the Coast 2026». ¡A lo largo de cuatro semanas llenas de acción, recibimos a más de 90 niños para ofrecerles actividades prácticas de educación marina y emocionantes experiencias al aire libre en la costa!

Muchísimas gracias a nuestros colaboradores por hacerlo posible: 🏫 a la escuela primaria Chollas Mead por acogernos, 🎓 a los becarios Mellon del Centro de Justicia Global de la UCSD por su dedicación, 🚌 al Distrito Escolar Unificado de Santee por el transporte y 🐋 a la Comisión Costera de California por la financiación a través de su «Whale Tail Grant».

Join us at EarthLab for Garden Day on September 5th from 8:30 to 11:30 AM.

Come through to 1110 Carolina Lane and spend the morning outdoors with us. Help us prepare EarthLab for El Niño storms, volunteer in the gardens, and explore this beautiful space. Bird watch, look for cool insects, enjoy time with family, or take an easy walk!

Bring water, wear outdoor-ready clothes, and come ready to support the space.

Our 2026–2027 Green Team is officially here! 🌿 We kicked off the year with an awesome intro week envisioning the future of EarthLab and the Chollas Creek, a hike with Mellon Fellows, and a team-building camping trip at Mt. Laguna. We can’t wait to see the energy and creativity this crew brings to our community! 💚
