When Bekele joined a Purpose Group, he began learning new ways to care for both his land and his livelihood. By replacing costly synthetic fertilizers with vermicompost made from organic materials and worms, he transformed one hectare of maize production, resulting in a yield that significantly outperformed previous seasons. This shift has not only reduced his reliance on costly artificial fertilizers but has also improved the soil health of his land for future harvests.

This is a great example of how sustainable agriculture can help farming families thrive for generations to come!
