If you are attending the California Resource Recovery Association Annual Conference & Trade Show join Zero Waste San Diego TOMORROW for a fun, hands-on Reuse and Repair Experience on September 1st, from 12-2 pm at the Sheraton Hotel, Exhibitors Hall.

Zero Waste San Diego is partnering with Becreative.zone and Clicbitz to create a welcoming “make-and-take” experience using existing materials. Stop by anytime between 12:00 and 2:00 PM to make a quick, take-home project. Participants can choose between creating a pet toy or a small zipper pouch—two simple projects that highlight the value of reuse while celebrating the creativity within the CRRA community.

While you make, take time to connect with peers and learn more about Zero Waste San Diego’s work to educate the public, host repair events, and keep reusable items out of the landfill. This midday maker event is a chance to relax, get inspired, and be part of the solution in a fun and welcoming space.

✨ Community Visible Mending Circle – Every second Tuesday! ✨

Got a favorite piece of clothing that needs a little love? Bring it along and spend a relaxed evening mending alongside others in a welcoming, creative community.

Our Visible Mending Circle is a drop-in gathering for people who are comfortable working on their own projects independently. Whether you’re adding a colorful patch, reinforcing a well-loved garment, or embracing the beauty of repair, this is a space to create in community.

While our hosts will be mending alongside you and are happy to answer the occasional question as time allows, this is not a guided workshop or class.

Please bring the garment you’d like to mend, along with any fabrics, thread, notions, and tools you’ll need. We’ll have a limited selection of basic hand-sewing supplies available, but we recommend bringing your own materials for your project.

The city said in an announcement that the new bins will help ensure “that only eligible households receive service at the level they select, so service levels are accurately reflected, and customers are billed based on their selected service package.”

Should the grey bins break, the city will repair them or replace and deliver a new bin at no additional charge.
