The Gaza Children’s Shroud is not simply a vigil.

The Children’s Shroud Project is an interfaith movement of prayer, remembrance, and solidarity. It features a large white cloth bearing the handwritten names of more than 18,000 children known to have been martyred by the Israeli Occupation Forces in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

Among the martyred there are many infants, some of whom had not even completed a single day of life. Behind every number is a name, a person, a world that was brutally taken.

These innocent dead must be given back their dignity, having too often been forgotten or treated superficially in our news reports, as if they were “non-human.”

The project invites people to write names onto the shared cloth as a witness to human dignity.
