Our allies at the Employee Rights Center are hosting their monthly health and legal clinic in City Heights, which includes a food pantry! If you are interested in any of their services, or would like a bit of help here at the end of the month with a packet of food, please stop by 4161 Home Ave this Saturday at 9am!

The Employee Rights Center (ERC) invites you to our MONTHLY LEGAL AND HEALTH CLINIC!
SATURDAY, May 30th!
From 9am to 11am at 4161 Home Ave (City Heights)

We provide these services:
- MediCal applications
- Mexican Consulate form assistance
- Citizenship and Worker Rights Workshop
- CalKids enrollment assistance

Every family may receive 1 of each item below
- Food package
- Packets of food for dogs and cats
- Reading glasses
- Package of diapers for infants
- Feminine hygiene pack

Appointments are not required. Free Parking is available. Items are first-come, first-serve.

On the eve of the 24th anniversary of the imprisonment of Marwan Barghouti, Palestine’s most prominent political prisoner, his lawyer has revealed that he has been violently assaulted three times in recent weeks.



* 8 April (Ganot Prison): Severely beaten and left for over two hours; denied medical treatment despite repeated requests.
* 25 March: Assaulted during transfer between Megiddo and Ganot prisons.
* 24 March (Megiddo Prison): Guards entered his cell with a dog, forced him to the ground, and he was attacked by the dog.

These attacks have taken place in the context of increasing violence against Palestinian prisoners. Just last week, a UN expert warned that the abuse of prisoners has become ‘state doctrine’ in Israel, ‘making prisons instruments of genocide and torture’.

The only way to guarantee Marwan’s safety is for him to be released.
