Support our vision of opening up the first Yoga Studio in City Heights. To increase accessibility to yoga & mindfulness. Bringing awareness to the different systems of oppression and the impact it has on our mental health. Yoga and mindfulness are our vehicle to nurture healing at both the individual and community level. We have many partners in the community that have generously shared their space. Our goal is to create a space of our own to better service our community.

Thank you to all our followers and to all the people that believe in CYM. Mostly thank you for believing in me. The journey has not been easy but we are still here. Taking it one step at a time, one moment at a time.

To all of you that know me know that CYM has been my dream "my baby". But with my unexpected pregnancy it has been challenging to keep up with it. It's been a challenge to keep my own mental health let alone show up for this community. I've question my capacity as a leader. I've question my ability of being a Mom and continue as the Executive Director of CYM. So many times I've wanted to give up. So much uncertainty.

Yoga is my passion. I can't give up. Yoga is what has help me again and again with my mental health. Because yoga is not just the Asana (movement). Yoga is a way of life. It's not how you look it's about how you feel.

So I want to take this moment to give gratitude to everyone that has made my success possible. My family for helping shape the leader in me. thank you for your support. for letting us use your space. for believing in us before anyone new about CYM. for rooting for us. To all the powerful women that make up CYM.

You Belong Community Yoga Series is designed to promote mental and emotional healing. In this series we will utilize Yoga and Mindfulness to deepen our feelings of interconnectedness and belonging. We will go beyond western expectations and ideology. By connecting with divine guidance; bridge and understand the culture where yoga comes from and utilizing those tools for well being. At each session, we will study and implement key concepts and practices of self-care and healing:

🔸Focus on physical posture to promote strength and flexibility
🔸Breathing exercises that focus on reducing tension and stress
🔸Mindfulness practices to enhance mind-body awareness and improve attention and emotional regulation skills
🔸A deeper understanding of how The Chakra system explores the balance between the mind, body and spirit
🔸Examine your window of tolerance to become aware of your emotional limits
🔸Affirmations to influence your subconscious mind to access new beliefs
