After a full week of learning, connection, exploration, and new experiences in Washington, DC, Class of 2027 wrapped up their final full day in the nation’s capital with a few more memorable moments together! 🇺🇸✨

Here's what Fellows were up to on day 6:
- Thanks to Congressman Juan Vargas (D-CA-52), Fellows had the incredible opportunity to tour the U.S. Capitol at midnight, exploring spaces rarely accessible to the public. Memorable moments included sitting on the House floor and visiting the Speaker's Balcony!
- Fellows enjoyed their long-anticipated free day, choosing their own adventures by exploring college campuses, botanical gardens, cozy coffee shops, and experiencing life like a DC local
- Fellows wrapped up the day with a sunset boat cruise along the Potomac River!

For 35 years, the Aaron Price Fellows Program has helped prepare generations of San Diego students to become responsible, caring, and engaged members of their communities.

Founded on Sol Price’s vision of developing active citizens who care for their communities and help others, the program continues to create opportunities for students to grow as leaders while building lasting friendships across diverse backgrounds and experiences.

From past Fellows classes to the graduating Class of 2026, the impact of the program continues to grow through every student, facilitator, alum, and supporter who has been part of the journey. Today, more than 1,300 Aaron Price Fellows alumni continue to carry out the program's mission by making a difference in their families, careers, and communities.

As we prepare for orientation for the Class of 2029, we celebrate 35 years of leadership, growth, and lasting community impact.

During the Public-Private Partnership program with San Diego FC, Class of 2026 Fellows learned about the multi-sector collaboration required to bring Major League Soccer to San Diego. While visiting ’s downtown office and the Right to Dream Academy on Sycuan tribal land, they explored the roles of the private sector, public sector, and sovereign nations in large-scale collaborative efforts. Fellows evaluated the value, need, and overall benefit of public investment.

We also launched , putting the camera in Fellows’ hands to capture the program from their own point of view and share moments from their experience along the way.

Thank you to our hosts and partners:

: Jose "Pepe" Cervantes ('00) is sharing the work he's a part of at the California School for the Deaf - Riverside (CSDR). "As a culinary arts teacher in the high school, I get to work with incredible and awesome students." He recently created an ASL story about food for the school’s Deaf kindergarten students who are receiving targeted intervention to build a foundation in both English and American Sign Language (ASL). Pepe has crisscrossed the county in his educational journey: Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows Program, San Diego State University M.P.A. in Public Administration, and Gallaudet University B.S. in Economics. We are fortunate to have his leadership in Southern California.
