June is Children’s Vision Awareness Month, a reminder of how important early eye screenings and regular vision exams are for children.

Kids often don’t realize their vision is changing or that something may be wrong, which is why parents, educators, and healthcare providers play such an important role in early detection and intervention.

Addressing vision concerns early can make a significant difference in a child’s learning, development, confidence, and overall quality of life.

Because blurry vision isn't normal.

Most people walk over these bumps every day without realizing they serve an important purpose.

For people who are blind or visually impaired, these textured surfaces help indicate the transition from street to sidewalk, supporting safer and more independent travel.
Accessibility is often found in the small details we take for granted.

May is Healthy Vision Awareness Month. It’s a time to recognize why inclusive design matters in everyday life. 🦯

Braille is more than a system of raised dots. It creates access to literacy, education, communication, and independence for people who are blind or visually impaired.

Created by Louis Braille in 1824, the system is still used around the world today on books, signs, elevators, classrooms, medication labels, and more.

Swipe through to learn more about Braille and see if you can count to 10 using the Braille system!

✨ Meet Project Vision Aid Recipient Nicolly ✨
At 12 years old, Nicolly is joyful, determined, and eager to learn. Because of her visual impairment, accessing support in the classroom can be challenging, but her new iPad is helping her learn more independently every day.

With a larger screen, Nicolly can enlarge letters and images to practice reading, strengthen speech development, learn new concepts, and participate in educational activities with greater confidence.

“She is very happy, and I truly believe this tablet will help her feel even more capable of doing the things she loves, especially studying,” shared Nicolly’s mom.
Through Project Vision Aid, children like Nicolly receive assistive technology that empowers them to learn, communicate, and thrive.

Know a child who could benefit from assistive technology? Visit www.visionofchildren.org/project-vision-aid to learn more and apply today.
