JTA's Nona Chai states it clearly at the climate talks: so-called Nature-Based Solutions should have no place at climate conferences! These *false* "solutions" don't keep fossil fuels in the ground, and they harm many Indigenous Peoples and Afrodescendant communities, including through land grabs, among other injustices. The real solutions come from those on the frontlines. We need a Just Transition Mechanism that is non-debt creating and that provides direct payments to affected peoples, while also understanding that different communities have different needs.

University of Montana students Anna Dolsen (.dolsen.31) and Ella Macek reviewed movement history and selected three case studies to identify the challenges and possibilities shaping un/just transitions. They communicated their findings in a StoryMap that employed to evaluate case studies in Germany, Alberta, and California.

JTA hopes community groups and movement organizers will find generative ideas and resources for approaching the hard work ahead by checking out this StoryMap--link below!
