This Tuesday Morning, Home Start was honored to attend and support the Life Science Cares San Diego Annual Impact Breakfast alongside so many dedicated community leaders, nonprofit partners, and members of San Diego's life sciences community.

We are especially grateful that Joe our CEO and Home Start client Aire' were invited to share a few words with guests and demonstrate the incredible impact that collaboration can create. Please join us in welcoming Bailey Powell-Espiritu to Home Start as our new Housing Intake Coordinator!

A proud San Diego native, Bailey brings a strong background in nonprofit and community-focused work, with experience supporting organizations like I Love A Clean San Diego and San Diego 350. She is also a recent graduate of San Diego State University, earning her degree in Art in 2024.

Baileyā€™s passion for service continued during her internship with the Prison Arts Collective, where she supported rehabilitative art programs for communities impacted by incarceration. Her dedication to uplifting local communities aligns deeply with Home Startā€™s mission.

Early literacy helps build strong foundations for lifelong learning. At Home Start, weā€™re helping young children and families build literacy skills through our First 5 First Steps Program.

Support through the "Ready to Learn" grant we have received helps reduce barriers to learning through evidence-based home visits for families from pregnancy to age 5. Together with and , weā€™re helping build strong foundations for lifelong learning.
