Guitars & Ukes in the Classroom is a non-profit that has trained 19,000+ teachers to lead music! Our abbreviation is no longer GITC, but GUITC.

Guitars in the Classroom has changed its name to Guitars and Ukes in the Classroom. This can be pronounced "git-see" for ease.

An update from the Monarch community 💛

Following careful planning with the San Diego County Office of Education, our students will transition to Central Elementary School in mid-October, where they will continue learning through December while remediation and environmental testing continue at Monarch.

This challenging time has been a powerful reminder of the resilience of our students and the strength of the community that surrounds them.

Our staff have worked tirelessly to maintain the education, support, and stability students rely on, and we are deeply grateful to the donors, volunteers, and community partners who have stepped forward.

Costs are significant. We’ve launched the Monarch Forward campaign to help fund remediation, transportation, and temporary facilities while sustaining education, mental health care, family support, and enrichment. Please consider helping move Monarch Forward.
