The challenges for our org and many others continues. Thank you, Bob Lehman for speaking so pointedly to the larger financial problem that Mayor Todd Gloria's proposed erasure of support for The Arts will cause for San Diego in the months and years ahead. Defunding us all in 2027 means defunding the City of San Diego too. We are intertwined. How can this city rise if the budget clips its wings? The proposal makes no sense.

We're super excited to share that summer classes are coming together for virtual and in person instruction. Registration opens next week. We are also starting 2 new GITC programs next week. First on Monday we are working with educators in Chicago at the Instituto Del Progreso Latino in the Pilsen community, thanks to individual charitable donations, and Dean of Adult & Continuing Education, Stephen Alderson! Next, we're heading to Richmond, California and Valley View Elementary in the West Contra Costa Unified School District on Wednesday to train teachers from Valley View and Murphy Elementary Schools for the first time. Thank you to the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation for making our new Bay Area program possible, and to principal Joey Sundberg and educator Kristin Mosby for leading this effort.! These programs always and only happen because people like you care. It may seem corny, but "We Are the World." It's still true. Here's a little nostalgia for you.
