How does human behavior impact our local watershed? 💧🌿

That’s one of the questions students will explore in “Our Urban Watershed,” Cabrillo National Monument’s newest ranger-led field trip!

Developed by Cabrillo National Monument Science Educators Hannah Marquez and Sam Buck, the program features a hands-on watershed model that gives students the opportunity to see how water and pollution move through the environment and discover how human pollution can affect our waterways.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse 360° Virtual Tour! 💡🌊

Available in both English and Spanish, this tour was designed to provide everyone, regardless of ability or location, the opportunity to experience and learn from this historic landmark.

In 2025, park partners contributed more than $720 million in support of America’s national parks, and we are so proud to be a part of that community!

Recently, our Executive Director, Emily Moore, joined over 160 friends groups from across the country at the National Park Friends Alliance Fall Meeting in Rocky Mountain National Park to share ideas and bring new resources and connections home to Cabrillo National Monument. 📍🪸🗺

This past Saturday we celebrated Cabrillo National Monument's incredible Volunteers-In-Parks (VIPs) who give their time, energy, and talents to support our park! 🫶

The annual VIP Celebration is a chance to say thank you and recognize all that these dedicated volunteers contribute throughout the year. From teaching about intertidal life in the tidepools, to inducting Jr. Rangers in the Visitor Center, to keeping invasive plants at bay -- the impact of Cabrillo's volunteers cannot be overstated.

Cabrillo National Monument Foundation is proud to support this special gathering and help celebrate the people who give so much to Cabrillo.
