Stanford gets it done again 🏆

The Stanford University Cardinal three-peat at the College Sailing Women’s Team Race National Championship, finishing with a dominant 21-1 record after two competitive days in New Orleans.

🥇 Stanford University
🥈 Yale University
🥉Brown University

Yale University takes second (18-4), staying right on Stanford’s heels all regatta, while Brown University rounds out the podium in third (13-9) after a strong showing in a deep, competitive fleet.

After storms delayed the start, teams were met with shifty breeze, lumpy chop, and incredibly tight racing all event - where nearly every race came down to the final legs. Stanford and Yale set the tone early, both going undefeated on day one before battling through the end of the round robin, round of 6 and top 4.

Huge thank you to the race committee, umpires, volunteers, hosts at Tulane, and all of the sponsors who made this championship possible. 👏🏼

Day 1 of the Women’s Team Race National Championship done and dusted ✅

Racing began after a weather delay due to storms and lightning in the area. Once underway, teams faced challenging conditions with shifty breeze, frequent course adjustments, and lumpy, unforgiving chop. 🌊

Racing was extremely close throughout the day, with nearly every race decided in the final moments. There was also a strong turnout of spectators both on shore and on the water, bringing great energy to the event.

With seven flights remaining in the opening round, the standings remain tight. Stanford and Yale are tied for first place at 8–0, with the rest of the fleet close behind and plenty of racing still to come.

Harvard goes back-to-back at Open Team Race Nationals 🏆

A 22–3 record secures their third title in four years after three days of tight racing on Lake Pontchartrain.

🥇Harvard University
🥈Stanford University
🥉Roger Williams University

From the opening races, the Harvard Crimson set the tone at the top of the standings and carried that consistency through the full event, ultimately building enough separation to clinch the championship before the final round even began. In one of the deepest and most competitive fields in recent memory, every race mattered - but Harvard’s ex*****on across all three days kept them firmly in control.

Stanford takes 2nd, Roger Williams 3rd, with Dartmouth playing spoiler in the final round and shaking up the podium race.

“It was a special team win,” said senior Harvard skipper Mitchell Callahan. “Each member on the roster contributed immensely this week, and I am so grateful for the incredible group of people that make up the Harvard sailing team. We have the best coaches, sailors, support staff, and parents in the sport, and I could not be more proud or more grateful to be a part of such a historic team.”

Margins were razor-thin all week with just one win separating 5th through 8th.

Huge thank you to the race committee, umpires, volunteers, and staff who make this regatta, and all college nationals, possible. This event wouldn’t be the same without your dedication and time.

Day 2 of Open Team Race Nationals in the books ✅

The Round of 16 wrapped up by midday in lighter breeze, setting the stage for a stacked top eight. Navy, Tulane, Georgetown, Brown, Dartmouth, Stanford, Roger Williams, and Harvard all punched their tickets and race committee wasted no time getting the next round underway.

A brief weather hold for storms and lightning paused the action, but the race committee kept things moving and got the fleet back on the water to finish out the Round of 8.

Now it all comes down to the Final Four:
Harvard leads the charge at 21–1 after an undefeated second round, followed by Roger Williams (16–6), Stanford (15–7), and Dartmouth (12–10).

Racing resumes tomorrow at 10:00am with Roger Williams vs. Stanford to kick things off. Catch the action live on the College Sailing YouTube page.
