Our VPK class at Children of the World Preschool is working hard to get their pumpkin decorated just in time for Learning Empowered’s agency-wide Pumpkin Decorating Contest! 🎨🎃

🚒🔥 Learning Through Fire Safety at Learning Empowered! 🔥🚒

A big THANK YOU to St. Petersburg Fire Rescue for visiting Learning Empowered and teaching our children important lessons about fire safety!

Our little learners discovered how to stay safe in an emergency by learning how to:
🔥 Crawl low to the ground to escape a building filled with smoke.
🔥 Stop, Drop, and Roll if their clothes catch fire, remembering to cover their faces.
🔥 Recognize the importance of fire safety and knowing what to do in an emergency.

The excitement continued as the children got to explore the fire engine up close and even hold the fire hose! What an amazing hands-on learning experience!

We are so grateful to St. Petersburg Fire Rescue for taking the time to educate our children and help them build important safety skills. Thank you for being our community heroes!

🚨 Learning About 911 at Learning Empowered! 🚨

Our Learning Empowered Campus Head Start classes and Triangles classrooms had a special visit from County 911 operators yesterday ! 📞

Our students learned when and how to call 911 in an emergency. The operators made learning fun by playing a game with different scenarios, asking the children to answer “yes” or “no” to decide whether each situation was a reason to call 911.

These important lessons help our children understand how to recognize emergencies and when to ask for help. We are so thankful to the Pinellas County 911 operators for taking the time to visit our classrooms and teach our students about this important life skill!

Learning Empowered Holiday Puzzle Drive!

Help us make the holidays extra special for the children we serve! ❤️

This holiday season, we are trying to gift every child in our organization their very own puzzle! We are collecting new, unwrapped individual puzzles for children birth–5 years old.

🧩 What we need:
👶 New, unwrapped individual puzzles appropriate for children ages birth–5
🎁 Individual puzzles that can be gifted to a child for the holidays

Puzzles are a fun way for young children to build problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, patience, and confidence all while having fun!

Today, on World Mental Health Day, Learning Empowered is proud to highlight the importance of supporting the mental health and well-being of young children, families, and the educators who care for them.

💚 Triangles Program
Our Triangles Program provides early childhood mental health and therapeutic support for children ages 3–5 who may be experiencing social-emotional, developmental, or behavioral challenges that make it difficult to be successful in a traditional classroom setting. Through individualized support, children are given the tools and encouragement they need to build skills, confidence, and positive relationships.

💙 Empowering Babies & Families (EBF)
EBF provides no-cost support for children birth–3, families, and early childhood educators. Through mental health consultation, coaching, resources, and practical strategies, EBF helps strengthen relationships, support children's development and behavior, and build caregiver confidence.

At Learning Empowered, we believe mental health support starts early. When we support young children and the adults around them, we help build stronger families, healthier relationships, and brighter futures. 🌱💚

🚔🚒 Community Helpers Month at Learning Empowered’s Triangles Program! ❤️

Our Triangles classrooms have been celebrating Community Helpers Month with some exciting learning experiences! We were so happy to welcome the St. Petersburg Police Department for a special visit with our students. 👮‍♂️

The officers read a story, talked with our children about safety, and showed them some of the items on their uniforms. This hands-on experience helped our little learners become more familiar with the community helpers who work hard to keep us safe!

Our Triangles classrooms have also been getting creative! Our dramatic play centers have transformed into a fire station, and our students even made their own adorable police car and fire truck! 🚓🚒 Through imaginative play, our children have opportunities to explore new roles, practice social skills, express their creativity, and learn about the world around them.

A BIG thank-you to the St. Petersburg Police Department for spending time with our Triangles students and helping make Community Helpers Month so special! We appreciate your time, kindness, and continued support of our community. ❤️💙
