15 years ago our Founder, Julie Johnson went on a missions trip that changed her life and inspired her to start Elevāt. She couldn't get the images of women selling their beautiful handmade items on the streets for next to nothing out of her mind. Most of these women had families to feed and weren't looking for a hand-out, they wanted to PROVIDE a better life for their children. With the help of many others, the idea of Elevāt was launched; it's important to look back and remember where it all began and why we do what we do.

Have you met Deb yet? She is our operations manager and oversees all of our pop up events. If you attended one of our local shows, you've likely ran across her smiling face. She joined Elevāt not long after we launched 14 years ago and has been a strong voice and support for our global artisans, telling their stories and sharing our mission at events. We are so grateful for her and her dedication!

Haiti is facing one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises. Armed gangs now control much of the country, driving widespread violence, hunger and displacement with 1.4 million Haitians forced from their homes.

Our partners in Haiti, Vi Bella, have sent their artisans home with work so production could continue from the safety of their homes. We continue to pray for peace, protection, and better days ahead for Haiti.
