Day 2 of the Minnesota NAHRO Annual Conference brought more opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate! 👏

At our Annual Meeting luncheon, we presented the final two of our four conference awards.

Congratulations to Sam Richie, recipient of the Housing & Community Development Award, and Vern Lippert, recipient of the Conrad Rettmer Award for Commissioners!

What a way to kick off the Minnesota NAHRO Annual Conference! 🎉

President Allison Streich welcomed our members, and Senior Vice President Taggert Medgaarden presented the first two of four awards we’ll celebrate throughout the conference.

A big congratulations to Lisa Hohenstein, recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award, and Melissa Taphorn, recipient of the Allan Anderson Award of Merit! Thank you both for your dedication and contributions to housing and our communities. 👏

NAHRO CEO Mark Thiele also joined us for lunch. We’re happy to have him with us in Minnesota this week!

And for any Schoolhouse Rock fans out there, we had a special visit from a “Bill” to talk about August Advocacy! Once we wiped away the tears from laughing so hard, the message was loud and clear: our voices matter, and advocacy makes a difference! 📜

🎉 The Minnesota NAHRO 2026 Annual Conference is almost here!

We’re looking forward to seeing housing professionals from across Minnesota this week at Treasure Island Resort & Casino, beginning Wednesday, October 7.

The Annual Conference is a great opportunity to learn, share ideas, hear the latest updates impacting housing and community development, and connect with colleagues from around the state.

Don’t forget about Wednesday evening’s Bowling & Networking Scholarship Fundraiser from 7:00–9:00 PM. Whether you bowl or just come to network, it’s a fun way to kick off the conference while supporting the Minnesota NAHRO Scholarship Fund.

The Minnesota NAHRO Professional Development Committee met yesterday in Red Wing and spent some time at Treasure Island putting the final details together for our 2026 Minnesota NAHRO Annual Conference!
