According to the attached press release, those veterans may have a claim in the company’s bankruptcy. The deadline to file a Proof of Claim has been extended to 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Filing a Proof of Claim does not, by itself, affect your VA disability benefits. Filing does not guarantee repayment, but failing to file could affect your ability to recover money.

Please read the full press release for details and filing instructions, and share this information with veterans who may be affected.

Your Minnesota VFW Posts are at work in the community.

Redwood County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2553 recently donated $1500.00 to the Redwood Area Food Shelf (RAFS).

Post #2553 recognizes the valuable service the food shelf provides to veterans and others. The donation qualifies the Redwood Area Food Shelf for the VFW Foundation's Uniting to Combat Hunger (UTCH) Grant Matching which offers grants for monetary, food, or item donations to local food banks, pantries, or homeless relief organizations.

The VFW Foundation UTCH grant provides up to $1,500, with a $1 match for every pound of food or dollar donated. Funds are sent directly to the charity, not to the VFW post.

Redwood County VFW used funds from charitable gambling proceeds. Since July 1st, 2026, VFW Post #2553 has donated over $15,000 in charitable gambling funds and volunteer hours for Food donations, Youth Programs, Disadvantaged Veterans, Public Services and Safety Programs.

The Minnesota VFW had the pleasure of hosting VFW Quartermaster General Marc Garduno at our VFW and Auxiliary Department Fall Conference.

State Commander Charles A Hawkins Sr. and Department Auxiliary President Jean Keogh and their teams delivered valuable training to Minnesota VFW and Auxiliary members.

We offer our sincere thanks to our members who attended.

It was a busy day on Capitol Hill for Minnesota VFW leaders Barry Henriksen and Dr. Jim Tuorila.

We share our thanks with all VFW National Legislative Committee members who were on the Hill today.

As the VFW's National Veterans Legislative Committee meets in Washington DC, committee members from Minnesota, Barry Henriksen and Dr. Jim Tuorila meet with U.S. Representatives Brad Findtad (MN-1) and Betty McCollum (MN-4).

From St. Paul to Washington DC and across the country, your VFW is actively advocating for veterans, service members, and their families.

Let's get the Major Richard Star Act passed by Congress. Act now! This will only take a minute or two of your time.

ONE MORE SIGNATURE NEEDED.

The Major Richard Star Act discharge petition has 217 of the 218 signatures needed. Combat-injured veterans have waited long enough.

Take action today and tell Congress to get this done: https://www.votervoice.net/VFW/Campaigns/139696/Respond

Take a moment today to remember those American Service members who are deployed overseas and at Sea.

On RED Friday, we remember the men and women serving far from home and the families waiting for their return.

Wear red. Remember Everyone Deployed.
