⚡️ CREATOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Jon Sloan

Jon Sloan is a Minneapolis Metro webcomic artist who is the creator/writer/artist of "The Do-Jahng" (now: "The Do-Jahng: Awakenings") and "Jim & Celeste." He's a member of The International Cartoonist Conspiracy, and has appeared three times as Artist Guest of Honor at MarsCon. He's also done a series of talks about his creative process and production to students at Unitec Universidad, Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Justin “Spanky” Cermak, Artist, Head of DATA RED Comics, Intellectual Property Creator, Writer and Artist of teen romance, horror comic book, “OF DEATH.” In addition to numerous comic book titles, “RoboCatz vs. Thunder Dog,” and “Space Sheriff & Happy Space Boy,” we've just re-launched our iPhone App, “Super WordUp.”

Justin Cermak was born in Minneapolis, graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He recently ran for public office, Minneapolis Park Board.

Dave Wheeler and Jeff Dobberpuhl will be discussing the history of dinosaurs in comics, why dinosaurs are still popular in comics today, what makes a good dinosaur, and some of their favorites that have shown up over the years.

Jeffery A. Dobberpuhl is an Ennie award winning game designer, an author, and an illustrator. He is the creator of the webcomic "Badd's Science."

His illustration work includes Middle Earth Games, Airship 27, and the upcoming novel "Rhymers," and role playing modules including for the RPGA.

Jeff also takes commissions and has his watercolors being exhibited in galleries in Florida.

⚡️ CREATOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Matt Hintz

Matt Hintz is a local artist from the Twin Cities. Typically he creates pop culture characters without eyes, drawn by hand and painted in watercolors or acrylic. The artworks not having eyes is a play on Margaret Keene's Big Eyes painting style where she refers to eyes as the window to the soul.

Matt has flipped this in an expression calling his work Heart & Soulless art: "As an artist I put my heart into my work, yet my characters don't have souls."

Matt has also been a part of local artist Shane Anderson's team, helping make artwork for clients like Minnesota Vikings Foundation, Mall of America, and Bell Banks; and murals around Minnesota in places like Minnesota's Largest Candy Store, Seven Points mall in uptown, and Cowboy Jacks Saloon in Saint Paul.

⚡️ CREATOR ANNOUNCEMENT: The Evil Nae

Nae is the solo writer and artist for the webcomic “The Fantasy Book Club,” available on Webtoon and Tapas. Known for their semi-realistic style inspired by hand-inked comics and early 2000s American cartoons, their readers can always expect to see colorful art, intense lighting, and detailed backgrounds all centered around character-driven storytelling.

"The Fantasy Book Club" has been running since 2020, has been freatured in the Webtoon Pride Reading List since 2023, and has reached over 25k readers across platforms with a successful Kickstarter campaign to print the first issue with more to come!

Hitoroki is a black transfemme comic artist and illustrator specializing in fantasy and cyberpunk artwork with an emphasis on sapphic romance and strong female characters. She draws her inspiration largely from video games and comics, particularly JRPGs and fighting games.

90s video games and media shaped much of her initial interest in art and as a result, she is a massive fan of Capcom, DC and Marvel Comics.
